Perhaps some DT1 members, moderators or perhaps even Theymos could chime in on this.

As a Default Trust 2 Member,
I take the feedback I leave on any trades seriously. I have only left negative feedback twice; always seeking to resolve issues, never abusing the ability to tarnish ones profile. The feedback I leave is factually correct, and I stand by it.

However, it's now happened twice:

Where feedback I have left for a member; positive trust; a large amount in terms of USD, (sale of goods), where both parties risked, and made the trade on the faith of our respective profiles/past feedback - and the deal went as planned.

Fast forward 1, 2 years.

I've now received 2 PMs from trusted members, Hero Members, green trust, that state specific members I have left positive trust for have "sold" their accounts".  And the new users are essentially "selling" feedback whether positive or negative.

My issue is, 2 years ago, at the time of the trade, the user conducted themselves in a trustworthy manner.

The user, made good on his promise.

Now I'm informed, the account is no longer in their possession, it has been sold, and asked, by a trusted member, that I should consider removing my feedback.

I've asked the member for factual proof, links, etc- but is there any forum policy on such issues?

I certainly want the feedback I leave to be reflective of what any other member might come to expect by dealing with that user. But, at the same time, I am well aware accounts are often sold, traded, etc, here on the forums (I've seen them listed in Marketplace).

Should feedback remain permanent? And simply allow new feedback to taint the suspected account as fraud? Or should a user, specifically a user like myself, I am DT2 and take that responsibility seriously; consider removing feedback- which was - at the time - accurate - but may no longer reflect the actual user/person I did business with?

I have moved away from adding names to my Trusted List for this reason. I find most people leave it at the default setting of 2 regardless. But DT2 members do affect members ratings in the Marketplace.

My apologies for the long winded question; But wanted to provide a clear explanation.

I understandably don't have the time to "investigate" each of these issues as they arise, nor do I want to penalize a good standing member who simply had a deal gone wrong; and lastly, nor do I want to endorse an account that is no longer in the hands of the user I did business with.

Any guidance, help, thoughts, would be much appreciated.

Cheers!

If there's solid evidence the account was sold then in my opinion you should remove that feedback and maybe even leave a neutral as to warn others.

Good advice, that's what I have asked the member who contacted me to provide. Once I hear back I will make a final decision, and if there is any serious wrongdoings, I'll report the situation to the global moderators for review.

Thanks for the prompt reply.
