Here is the story

User  nachtwind    is selling 320$ PayPal for bitcoins and just seconds later this the user d3m0n1q_733rz claim  he bought 70$.

He contacted me via pm to exchange, once I asked for escrow he stops to reply, both users got a recent password reset.

I accuse them to be hacked accounts, and both in control of the same person!

You're probably right, but 1) Why use escrow with PayPal (it's useless and everyone knows that), and 2) A lot of people have changed their passwords lately because of the attack on bitcointalk.  Including myself.

More damning is the timeframe that alleged deal took place in and the feedback left.  It does all point to sockpuppetry and a likely scam, won't argue that.

I know that escrow will not help me if he does a chargeback, but he is hero member, so I was ok to make the deal, and when I asked to put the bitcoins in escrow and then get my PayPal, he stopped to reply and he was online and active!

It very well could be a hacked/sold account. You would know all about that eh?

https://web.archive.org/web/20160910161525/https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=975899.msg10654975

But as it's already been stated there's not much point to escrowing a PayPal deal because they can/will always charge back.

Never deal with Paypal even when using escrow because the person can charge back even after 3 months or more have passed and you have fully forgotten of such transactions.

Or only deal with trusted people like zazarb and mixan and you will have no problems. They have been dealing with paypal from a long time and if you see their feedback and reputation you can only see good things about them.

Not only 3 months but up to 180 days, yes i know he is very trusted but his asking rate is just too high

I know his rate is too high compared with the others here but in my opinion thats a very fair price to pay in order to have hassle free transactions and peace of mind. I also recommend the user sardasa because he has a really good exchange rate.

Here is his official thread : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1268477.0

He really is starting to climb the ladder in the currency exchange section and his rates are not that high for the service he provides.

Well, here is my story. I was looking for spotify codes in the marketplace and saw that "d3m0n1q_733rz" guy pming me about having one he would sell me for 20$. Because this sounded quite suspicious I asked for an escrow. Since then I've never got an answer. This doesn't proof anything but it's still suspicious.

Further private message exchange shows that this user seems non-legit as the seller presumably cannot provide a proof that he actually is in the belonging of the spotify codes he was going to sell me.

Just because he didn't reply you doesn't mean he is a scammer.may be he found a better deal or doesn't want to sell now
