I hit some 95-97x multiplier and once 123, the latest one was 209x but this 209x is the one listed in the leaderboard and as the 1st position while it should not be like this.
I think the leaderboard need to be reworked so only closest multiplier will be there.

Currently it is indeed better to hunt the highest ROI because the closest ROI is harder due to some players get really close ROI.
There are currently 3 closest ROI already 11182%, 11073%, 11040%, but since the leaderboard system is still based on the highest ROI, the 11182% will be on top than the 11073% while 11073% should be closer to 11111% than 11182%
Betcoin need to calculate it manually at the end of the contest to avoid wrong winners and complaints.
