Are you using v0.13.1 of the client? On windows? If no, update to 0.13.1 or 0.14.1. If yes, try restarting the machine and make sure your anti virus trusts ixcoin-qt.exe if using the gui and ixcoind.exe if not. Firewall must also allow program to access the internet and must not block port 8337. Finally, you can go to the Help/Debug window, click on Peers and right click on older peer versions to disconnect from node you cannot sync from. Good luck.

Programme has full permission through firewall etc and 7 peers are available shown below and network traffic showing many megabytes of data received but blocks still not moving after many hours. There is no .014 version for download off the website so I only have option for 0.13.I have bootstrapped the whole blockchain up to 350k blocks but chain will not move after this.

List of nodes and over 30MB of data received after just starting up again about 30 minutes ago but still no new blocks after 350k.

64.71.72.56:8337 (node id: 1)
144.76.71.141:8337 (node id: 2)
64.156.193.100:8337 (node id: 3)
52.15.150.105:8337 (node id: 4)
80.152.219.28:8337 (node id: 5)
87.98.159.143:8337 (node id: 6)
178.63.66.10:8337 (node id: 7)

Number of blocks left=684400
Last block time = sat jan 28 2017
Progress = 77.8%
Progress increase per hour= 0.13%
Est time left till sync = 7days

It has been like this for many days now.

Anybody renting hash to mine?  I’m interested in a pool that offers sha256d mining with IXC as a merged mined coin.

Cheers!

Yeah, but they’re not updating.  We need to get the update pushed through.

Vlad, did you know merge mining was Satoshi's idea?

Vaguely.

It doesn’t seem like miners are maximizing the potential of merge-mining *cough* sidechains.  Smiley

Vlad,
A few questions:

1. When I transfered IXC coins from CoinExchange to Cryptopia, it took almost 1 week for the coins to be fully confirmed. Any reason for that?

2. Any new exchanges in the works?

3. Any marketing plans to gain more awareness for IXC?

  •   The hash dropped significantly for 1-2 weeks so blocks were really slow during that time.
  •   I have filled out the proper forms and requested that ixc be added to multiple exchanges over the past few weeks alone.  I’m hoping we get at least one or two of those.  Exchanges are overwhelmed right now, some temporarily not adding new coins and some even shut down new customer account applications.
  •   As I’ve said before, we already paid and hired a marketing guru, JP, but he has been unresponsive.  We’ll do what we can with the limited funds we have right now.

Cheers!

Pointless if we can’t get the miners to update.

Exchanges will pull in the miners to update after any fork since they need the exchanges to convert fees mined to other crypto or Fiat.

We can do some grass roots marketing, if everyone starts raising awareness by posting about IXC on Twitter and Youtube, but in order for it to catch on, there will have to be some important news to use in order to gain additional members for IXC. So, if there is not big news to tie to IXC, current members should start posting and using that to get some more eyes on IXC.
