If that is only a blog then the mobile app will not be much complicated because there are no much rooms to develop.
But if there is another website with has interactivity, a magazine or something else then there is much work to do.

It seems a good idea. However, you would have to keep updating it for a blog site as those are fairly basic and also very active (from admin, as new articles are posted on a daily/weekly basis).
The use of this means it's much faster than finding the website and may require less data to be used on the requests (though, I'm not sure what they'd do about cookies?)
