Patience is Key in Long-Term $BTC Outlook...

Long Term Outlook (UP AS LONG AS 350 $ HOLDS): Fortunately for some and unfortunately for others, the market is back to its stable ways as indecision and distraction continue to weight on the market. A few weeks ago the distraction was Monero, this week it is a bug in the new Ethereum client that sent ETH hash rate and price down substantially overnight.

Regardless of what the cause, the technicals have been steadily signaling this type of sideways action for quite some time, and are now starting to resemble other consolidation periods fractally so at least we have a notion of where we are headed, generally speaking. Having said that, we want to make sure we are in tune with the market by taking a look at the long term timeframe today via the monthly chart below.

First of all, the rounded bottom at 150 $ and the bullish market structure since then should both be extremely encouraging for longer term bulls. Not only that, but it appears as though we have a working Cup & Handle with support at the uptrend line which is a bullish continuation pattern. Finally, SCMR is painting bright green candles in addition to strong dynamic support at 350 $ meaning that as long as we hold above there then the bulls will remain in control. On the other hand, Willy is getting awfully close to overbought, RSI is pulling back but remains bullish, and MACD is rolling over slightly for the time being.

Additionally, volume profile is still rather porous although we are back inside the value area, and the A/D line remains steady despite lackluster price action and low trading volumes over the past few months. All told, the chart is giving mixed signals for the shorter term outlook but remains bullish over the long term.

Patience and neutrality will continue to be our defenses for the time being, although we are still buyers of dips down into our ProTrade long zones.

Yes its better to do that because trading is the best way to get profit and easy to earn. Do some trading to increase your capital and earn big trading altcoins or in dollar you can do it in different platform becuase now the trading is the best way you can get money.

Not good for someone like me who only has 10 mins each day to check trading market i like to make trades over several months at a time these days.  Altcoins come and go fast the only one to be stable is LTC for me others are unproven over time.

Yes we can expect some good growth in the year 2017 because bitcoin has that potential but we should contribute our efforts in building awareness about bitcoin on our individual level. We should take efforts for growth of the bitcoin user base and that will make the impact in the long term (prices are uncertain but users are not). I think, we should make at least 24 people (each) aware about bitcoin in the year 2017 so at the end of the year we will have 2,300% growth at the end of the year in the user base.

real patience with bitcoin is very hard sometimes, specially with all the volatility and the FUDs that are flying around everywhere you look in times of boring market.
but those who have this kind of patience will be rewarded big time. say you buy at low prices of $200 and keep all of it until today, that is already 5x profit. and then looking at bitcoin's real potential and the adoption that has not yet happened, you can see this 5x is still too small a profit for you. and there are more profits to come.

that is true but also you have to remember that not everyone is capable of day trading. many fail miserably when they try to "buy the dip and sell the top" they get scared,... and end up buying at a wrong time and selling at another wrong time.

and besides doing that needs spending a considerably longer times trading and most people don't have that to spare so they end up hodling which is still pretty good.

Patience is really a helpful thing specially when we are trading since we could able to manage our trades for long term and we already know that we could able to make decent profits because if you dont have patience you will end up selling up those coins earlier. If you are longing for shorter trades then selling when theres profits is also a good way.

Yes it is! Patience can be a big tools in long term in Bitcoin. Just make sure that it will be useful at the right timing. Like example if the result of holding it will increase 10%, 20% or more. Try to sell the 10% of your investment, because it can be happen that it will drop the price again, then when price down its up to you if you invest again using the amount of your coins that has been sold of the 10%. Patience is needed for long term investment, if a good earning is required. At the same short swings happens often, realizing the right swing and selling high helps buy more by the next swing with the profit earned on selling. Importantly try to use the swings effectively, because none is sure when the peak price will be reached. On long term if the expected price is not reached then no use on waiting with patience.

Assets trading be it commodities, forex and crypto currencies are full of up and down in price movement and because of speculation and speculative activities assets price will never be stable, issue both technical and fundamental will be there to drive the currencies or commodities pricing. The margin traders take the opportunity of the fluctuations to make profit.

Only time will answer about the rewards for the patience of holding for longer periods. So far, especially bitcoin holders got and unbeatable returns for their patience. The short-term traders are eventually got trapped one day or other either with profits or not. It may not be a right time to talk about long term holding but personally I do not have any other option other than continuing my holding.

Hopefully this scalability issue of bitcoin will get answers for this. If we all move into one good solution, hopefully we can get $1500 and $2000 levels very soon as a reward for holding patiently.

I truly support your statement even though it seems like copy passed from an article.  Patience is really the key for bitcoin investment. If you want to get a good return, you need to hold your bitcoin fund for long time. When I started earning bitcoin, the price was standing at 450 USD. So I have already made a profit of more than 100% just by holding my bitcoins for more than a year.

So it is proved that no other investment will be able to provide that much return even in 5 years of time. I am planning to hold all my bitcoins for another 5 years before I can actually think about selling it. I believe bitcoin will reach at least 5 grand USD within next 5 years even in the worst case scenario. I am sure my patience will reward me suitably.

How can you tell that long term holding is risky when you can see to the price charts of bitcoin that it doesn't show any sign of being risky. Based on my experience long term holding is still better than shorting bitcoin because it maximize your possible profit just what like happen in the past few months where the bitcoin price is just like around $600+ and now it already touched $1,000+ price and that is why long term is better than shorting because shorting is risky if you don't have enough knowledge because bitcoin is being played by the big whales and it is very volatile.

Agreed, if this things will be apply to all gamblers, for sure many bitcoin fanatic will become rich in bitcoin and that is not far to be happen I think. But majority of the holder became impatience then they quickly sell the coins in their hands and repentance always comes at the last.

this is what we should do if we want to take big profit because we need to waiting for a while and i think its not just in 3-5 days but maybe in weeks or month and this is why its few traders that can hold until that time. and now i am trying to hold one coins, no matter how long i am waiting because i want to know how much the price will increase if i can hold any longer than usually. i am trying to make big profit for holding one or more coins in my wallet.
