Im new to this BitCoin thing.
In the last few days I tried several pools
(since I understood that a stand-alone mine, will never get anything with the hardware available to me).

I have problems with a few (firewall probably)
(for example with mining.bitcoin.cz - Is there a way to configure a proxy ? how ?  - but this is another subject)

So I tried using DeepBit - which I can connect to, but I get a lot, and I mean a LOT of errors, and time outs.
for example:
Error 801901F7
Error 80072EFD:  A connection with the server could not be established
Error 80072EE2:  The operation timed out

I do establish connection, and I can do work, and the work is accepted,
but - a LOT of time is spent waiting, and recovering these errors.

Is there a problem with the server ?
Is there a problem on my side ?
(I tried from several sites, with different ISP, and different network configuration,
but got the same behavior)

Many Thanks in advance.

Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

Which miner/OS are you using?
What hardware are you using?
Is your internet connection stable?
Which pools have you tried? Deepbit has been under DDoS attacks a couple of times the last few days as far as i know.

Windows + ufasoft - bitcoin-miner
Im using a 3 years old machine (it did not have any problems connecting to mining.bitcoin.cz, except when it was totally blocked by firewall)
Yes, internet connection is stable.

I tried deepBit, and mining.bitcoin.cz.

Any other(s) I should try ?
(Is there a list of all of them ?)

Hi,

It's been like this for the past two days on both of them - I am now looking for a new pool to join.

I don't know if there is a list anywhere, but you could always go to the pool mining forum (http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?board=41.0) and check the adds.

I have had good experiences with both Bitcoins.lc and BTCGuild.com

Most likely a DDoS attack, everyone is having the same issues.
