Our full statement regarding our decision to cancel our original forked Zcash project here will be released. This will detail the decision and explain how we came to the conclusion. <24hrs
The original Xerocash project (Zcash fork) was a large project with many components. There was much at stake with an unacceptable risk level. We wanted to bring value to the chain for our backers and also create opportunities in the space with a new concept in development.
Although the project had begun the initial stages of creating the brand, the later stages presented unknown factors difficult to address. Ultimately, our ability to deliver a complete technical release in a timely manner where brought in to question.

We have taken that concept and scaled it for success in a smaller project. We and are delighted to focus on the Xerocash brand itself.

Xerocash will focus on creating a limited edition series range of ultra rare cryptographic collectors items. Much like blockchain trading cards but these items will feature physical utility. They are unique and stylish one off pieces that may be sought after as collector items, unique wearable swag or special gift items.

Unlike standard “cafe press” items, these goods are going to be awesome! Each series one item will incorporate the following features:

-Custom graphics
-Water proof Hologram
-Custom 3d embossed logo
-Verification bar (0.8mm Thick) contoured left/right back, laser signed with XeroCash PGP as authentic
- Custom tamper proof certification papers

Xeros are the native asset. Each limited edition series item will incorporate %20 of the sale price into the article.

The initial goal is to register $250k USD limited edition items into the bitcoin blockchain. This will be achieved by creating and distributing series 1,2 and 3 limited edition items. This will see the distribution of 50k USD $Xero’s into the initial range.

The model creates scarcity through distribution introducing supply deflation.

As the brand becomes a success, people may wish to speculate on the future potential directly. By owning Xero’s, you will be able to do so.
The project’s success relies on the operation of a profitable business model. If the project is not self sustainable , the consecutive items could not be produced.

By buying the tokens, you may speculate on the success of the brand. If the project is successful, early release items will fetch super premiums on the secondary market as collector items. As we progress through the series not only do we create value to those still holding the asset, we increase the value of the entire collection.

Once the project gains traction holding the tokens will speculate on the success of the brand. We plan to move beyond series 3 production and will maintain %20 in each item from the series range.
XeroCash is an essential component of our brand. As our native crypto asset, we require these tokens to register the items in the blockchain.
The merchandise serves as the blockchain asset supported with the certification certificate and corresponding blockchain tokens.

Should the secret parameters fail to be erased or be generated in a non sufficiently random way, the whole chain security would be compromised.

In the case of zcash, you'll have a line up of highly respected people participating in the trusted setup: highly regarded cypherpunks and cryptographers, bitcoin community personalities, free software movement folks etc. It would take all these highly regarded people to collude for the trusted setup to risk being compromised. Given how these people have stood for what they believed in spite of government pressure and abuse (sometimes for as long as decades!), it's highly unlikely that they would collude and instantly jeopardize the work of their lives. In our opinion, it will not be so difficult to gather the required privacy advocates such as cypherpunks, cryptographers, bitcoin personalities and free software movement folk.

We are trying to get everything in order for the round 1 founders release.

There has been a large focus on keeping the ICO fair, open, honest and safe. There will absolutely be no closed "angel investing" rounds or any other dodgy shenanigans.

Right now one of the biggest dilemmas has been choosing the technology on which to launch the chain. Zcash has very interesting features but presents significant risk. The Zerocoin implementation seems to be a safer alternative but does not have the same anonymity.

Regardless, both of these technologies are in the very early stages and we remain cautious. It is wiser to remain patient and calculate this decision rather than rushing in with blind hype.

One of the suggestions from the team is that we release a blockchain asset that will redeemed 1-1 on the genesis chain. This will allow the time and consideration of these technologies and we can better make that decision.

Essentially the same way we would operate the ICO but with a delayed blockchain launch. Possibly up to 6 months. While both protocols are ironing out bugs we can continue focusing on the brand as we planned. God forbid there are no fatal flaws in either Zcash or Zerocoin we can then launch our chain on the preferred technology.

While we figure out these critical decisions it may seem quite around here but we are working away on the project!

As you can see we have revised our brand strategy and simplified the process.

Forking Zcash is an extremely complex process with many variables. Our ultimate goal was to build a brand with an awesome blockchain. Thats why we are proud to announce that we will be using the bitcoin blockchain to create the brand! The original Xerocash project (Zcash fork) was a large project with many components. There was much at stake with an unacceptable risk level. We wanted to bring value to the chain for our backers and also create opportunities in the space with a new concept in development.
Although the project had begun the initial stages of creating the brand, the later stages presented unknown factors difficult to address. Ultimately, our ability to deliver a complete technical release in a timely manner where brought in to question.

We have taken that concept and scaled it for success in a smaller project. We and are delighted to focus on the Xerocash brand itself.

In between finishing off a few other things I have been working on getting that set up. Spoke with 2 exchanges that will consider it when there is a little more information provided but they will also be charging significant fees.

I like the idea of listing Xero's on the exchange as it immediately provides a trusted and familiar means of exchange.
