Hi everyone,

Well my S7LN has decided to drop a board. Just stopped working all of a sudden. Havent had a chance to take it out yet and inspect it but got to think of the possibility of a replacement.

So are the regular S7 boards the same as the S7LN boards?

Thanks.

They are almost identical with batch 8->20 45-chip S7 boards.

The default frequency for S7LN is lower though at 600Mhz vs. S7 700Mhz.
And the S7LN boards have taller heat sinks.

Thanks HaggsFIN.

Its shame as its a sidehack modded one. Ill have a look at it later on and see what I can see. Im hoping a cable swap or a hard reset will sort it. A reboot didn't do anything  Undecided

Well took her apart and couldn't see anything wrong. Thought id move the ribbon cable over to the other spare socket on the control board (which is marked as an S5+ Control board) and what do you know its working again. Thank god for that. Didn't fancy getting a spare and having to do the mod that sidehack did (its a little out of my comfort zone).

Spoke to soon. It's stopped again. Looks like I may be breaking this for spares and giving up on the mining aspect unless someone has a spare S7LN board as I'd prefer it to have the larger heatsinks.

Are you sure the temperature is not dropping too low? I found that even an unmodded S7-LN likes to drop boards if the temperature goes below 52C. I have my fan on manual in order to keep the temperature between 56C and 60C.

I didn't know that. I will power it off later and restart it and close a window and see if I can get the temp up. Could well be that.  'Thanks for the suggestion.

If you feel your S7LN is starting to wear, it's time to improve your ventilation, add more fans to extend your board's lifespan.

More fans? She's underclocked to 445m to get approximately 2Th and I'm struggling to keep the temp above 50c  Cheesy

Just an update.

Looks like it was a temperature issue. Closed the windows and now its been running almost three days without fault. Great suggestion in2tactics  Grin
