Such a severe bug could easily destroy the coin, if it not already did so.

if the dev know a little about logic, they will realize that the hacker has stolen from them not from the community so in my opinion the should destroy 370 000 XZC send them to a vanity wallet a wallet without private key. that will bring a little confiance in the dev.

Please enlighten the devs how to destroy it when the coins are already sold on the market? No one has absolute control of that hacked coins now, how to gather them in one place and burn ??

He means that, the devs must destroy 370 000 XZC from their own funds as compensation for the stolen ones, just for the good for XZC coin itself.
Problem is, i don't think they have that much XZC yet.

i agree this must happen

Is there a way wallet could synchronize faster? it will take days.

the stupid wallet is stuck at synchronizing the network, like at 4%. How I'm going to send my bittrex coins to that wallet if it can't even sync

ya i have to admit im not sure WHAT this team has been working on all they seem to care about is tweaking the algo for cloud miners over and over. tho its alot more GPU friendly which i like, but damn, FIX YOUR WALLET ZCOIN :/  most cant even store their coins long term, how will the community support holding? Sad

its simple destroy the same amount of stolen coins from the dev wallet, you are payed the 20% of all mined blocks for good development if you fail you should pay, i'm i wrong ?

Even if they do not have the equivalent of all stolen coins, they should burn what they have as proof of good faith, by the time they will accumulate more and more coins.

Been asking dev to help via PM but no response. Can't believe that Zcoin doesn't have a proper wallet for long term storage. Can't believe Bittrex is my long term storage wallet that's a big lol. Thinking of selling these coins as this Zcoin seems to be looking more and more like a shitscamcoin. What if these 370,000 coins were stolen by the own developers? I wouldn't be surprised. If the wallet is not fixed by the end of the next week I'm going to sell my coins to get more KMD, at least the komodo devs seems to be working hard.

I'm not sure why people are expecting the developers to hand out any money. There was a chance to sell on Bittrex after the market came back online for a reasonable price. I even saw huge buywalls at one point that people could dump into.

ZCoin handled this issue pretty well in my opinion. Though, I must be honest, it kind of bothers me that someone walked away with 340,000 coins because this has obviously made the price of XZC lower than it should have been now and in the past.

Also, the 'disagreement' with the earlier dev feels awkward now that the coin mint issue has come to light. I have no proof of either case being related, but it makes me have trust issues with XZC now.

The latest version of the wallet synchronized fine for me after waiting a couple days. Are you using the latest version, 0.8.7.7? Did you upgrade from an old version?

You might need to clear the old block and chainstate folders if you started the sync process with an old version.

Yes i upgraded from the old version, but the old version could never synchronize either, so is there still any old block to clear? I'm in a MAC computer.

Yes, close the wallet then delete the contents of the block folder under folder named zcoin, then start the wallet again and resync from the start. I don't know where that is located on MAC OS unfortunately.

As for price pressure, I don't think we should comment too much on price as that is not really our job and markets are fickle though the immediate aftermath really wasn't all that bad.

We have a lot of good urgent work ahead of us and the first priority being putting in checks in place and code review so that something like this doesn't happen again. We do of course have other features and plans lined up but let's focus on one thing a time rather than stretching our resources too thinly which was one of the reasons the bug occurred in the first place. Would be foolish to repeat that mistake again as this is a long term project.

This sounds really good. Cool You still have the right attitude, and it seems that you reflected on the true issues here. What is most important for a project to succeed are the right developers, so that's what will determine the price in the future. Making a mistake once is not a problem. The problem is if you don't learn from it, and as it seems to me, you do. I'm confident in the success of this project.
