Hey all,

I haven't been all too active on this forum, yet I've been following Bitcoin for quite a bit now and want to support those who have great ideas and need a little boost.  I run a small private VMWare cloud collocated in a datacenter in Portland, Oregon at the Pittock Block building (the Internet Hotel here in Portland).  I have a dedicated gigabit connection on a router with a 10 gigabit connection to the net, along with plenty of processing power to accommodate many small or a few large projects.   My server farm is currently idle, waiting for some load.  Considering I don't have an active project I figured this would be a great way to get myself more involved in the community.

If you have a great idea and can give me a rundown of your idea along with your server requirements I am going to donate my processing power, bandwidth and talent to projects in need.  I can provide dedicated hosting services and/or full VM instances with any Operating System you require.  My 9-5 (right) job is as a Senior Server Engineer/IT Consultant (15+ years of experience) and I'm happy to give of my talents as well (as time allows).  If you're interested please drop me a PM or reply to the thread and we can discuss your needs and how I can help.

All the best,

Keith

Keith,

Wow, thank you for putting yourself out there with this offer. I don't know if it qualifies as an interesting idea, but I run a small-time blog (btcbible.com) and made the silly mistake of hosting it with GoDaddy. I still use the GoDaddy account I created almost a decade ago out of bad habit and was lazy when I setup the site.

Well, now the problem is that my site is getting a little more attention that I thought it would, and I'd like to be prepared to scale if necessary. Right now, the traffic isn't huge (a couple thousand hits when I put out an article) but I also want to setup a bitcoin faucet to reward subscribers to my blog, and I have been told that I should switch hosts if I want to do that securely. I should also mention that while I'm moderately competent with basic "catalog" web development, I have never done a site migration. So I would definitely ask for your help with that.

Anywho, whether or not you decide to take my site under the wings of your server farm, thank you for your offer to the bitcoin community.

Vires en Numeris,

Droppen - would you be comfortable taking a shot at developing a secure "bitcoin faucet" to reward people for subscribing to my blog (www.btcbible.com)?
