I'm planning to buy a couple of RX 470 to replace my old R9 380s. I was wondering if the VRAM quantity had any importance. Thank you by advance !

If price difference is greater than 10% then take ref 470 4gb, with proper bios you will go up to 27-28Mh/s ETH with no problems.

Price difference is 13~15%. Which one should it take then ? I've never changed the BIOS, so I'm not sure I'll know how to do it properly.

If you are not going to change a BIOS, you are denying yourself quite much of performance boost. With factory BIOS it will be 22Mh/s for 4gb vs. 24Mh/s for 8gb version. Still, i would vote for 4gb reference model.

Difference of hashrate was bigger than the difference of price, so I finally opted for the 8 Gb version. Thank you for your help Smiley !
By the way, changing BIOS, if easy enough, is not a no-go option for me.

No, I doubt they are. The design improved a lot and two years passed. The better is still to ask whom posses one.

It depends, if you run turbine at 100% speed they are noisy. In normal mining operation, when turbine spins between 40-50%, noise is in acceptable range.

The blower still the same, that is why I'm asking. I have 2X MSI 470 gaming 4g and are very silent.

I would say noise is similar to msi gaming set to 80-85% fan speed.
