I need a basic, solid config file. I know that there are all kinds of tweeks that can be used but I have less than .02 btc and I use it seldom.
In the past all of my outgoing transactions have been 0 confirmations. I suppose I need to manually connect to nodes through the config, but which and who to trust??

I'm not sure If It's just me but I didn't get much of what you said , you may want to speak with your native language instead. Which wallet are you using and what is your problem exactly ?

I am able to receive, but not make outgoing payments.
I now assume that I need to manually connect to nodes so that the transactions are broadcasted.

You still didn't tell me what wallet are you using but having transactions unconfirmed from June only mean one thing , which is you are not sync'ed with the network , so your Bitcoin Core (If it's the case) is downloading the whole blockchain. You should be able to send as should be once the wallet is fully sync'ed . In the meantime , you should check your transaction in the Blockchain.info by putting the TXID there , It should show confirmed

I must say i'm also a bit confused about what you're saying here...
Assuming you're running core (you're asking support in the subforum that is more or less dedicated to core), can you open the debug console and type getpeerinfo ?

IF you have peers, you can check the current block height (check if you're fully synced), if you don't have any peers, you can add them trough the same console by using the addnode command.

If you have peers, and you're sync'ed, give us the tx id's and addresses...
It's possible your transactions had other problems (like insuficient fees), and were broadcasted but not confirmed...

As for the commands you ran to receive "hanging" transactions, please elaborate... I don't really get what you're saying.

Look at my post above:

if you don't have any peers, you can add them trough the same console by using the addnode command.

You can add them:

you could potentially add some nodes to your bitcoin.conf file by adding lines like this:
addnode=<IP from the list above>

Can you give the tx id from the transactions that can't get confirmed, so we can at least check if they were broadcasted or not?

I used the command line
-zapwallettxes
to delete all 0 confirmed transactions. They were all months old.
I then used 
-rescan
I was able to retrieve all my btc in that manner.

My problem now is connecting to a network to make proper transactions.

I don't have info on the old transactions because they were deleted.

I'm starting to understand what you're saying

What actually happened was that you created a couple of transactions that were either never broadcasted (because you had no peers), or had other problems. This resulted in the fact that they were never included in a block. Because of the way bitcoin-qt is made, the wallet kept on re-broadcasting the transactions, and the inputs used for this transaction were unspendable.

By using zapwallets and rescan, you forced your wallet to remove those transactions, so the inputs became usable again...

Theorethically, the coins never left your wallet

As for your problem, you're correct, you'll need some peers in order to broadcast new transactions to the network, so i'd suggest to try the steps i listed in my previous post.
If this doesn't work, maybe there are some network problems??? A firewall, routing problems,... ?

I do find it weird that you were able to sync your wallet without any peers...

Worst case scenario, we could potentially walk you trough exporting your private keys, and importing them into electrum (for example)...

What key? What authenticaction codes? Are you talking about Bitcoin addresses or private keys? Bitcoin has no authentication codes.

No. There is no authentication required in order to join the Bitcoin network.


What is likely happening is that your firewall is blocking you. Double check that the firewall on your local computer AND on your router is allowing both incoming and outgoing connections on port 8333. If you have an antivirus, double check that it has the Bitcoin data directory listed as an exemption. Double check that the antivirus is also allowing incoming and outgoing connections on port 8333.
