The reasons you alluded are some of the major reasons why some country will go to war with another sometimes it might not be totally so in the sense that there are some wars being fought in countries in other to establish  sane society. And some times countries don't fight against each other they fight within themselves but the motive is always resource control. Yes, sadly world peace is just an imagination.  There will be no peace as long as there are corrupt politician.  As long as there were religion because of different beliefs and teachings then there are conflicts.  If people are not that humble to accept once fault and imperfection.  War is inevitable.

It's very complicate and difficult question but answer is simple.
We, people, separated from God in the Garden of Eden.
From that moment, people are in constant conflict and war and there is no peace any more.
