I don't believe in this centralized sites, but if Synereo, Ashaka or even Steemit become successful and able to attract half of what facebook users, I will like it to be integrated into their system

It has been done before... but FB blocked it.

However FB is now allowing bots... so it might be possible, even easy, to do it again.
I think they are still blocking Bitcoin payments though, I've found this article:
https://news.bitcoin.com/facebook-payments-messenger-bots/

Current bots are for CC and Paypal, I think.

Anyone know if it's possible to send bitcoins via facebook? it would be the ultimate solution. Everyone has a facebook profile today, so it would really make bitcoin have a major breakthrough.

Price of bitcoins just keep climbing!! Waiting for a pullback before I buy more BTC

This isn't necessary.

Setting up a wallet will just take seconds in our life. Same with sending bitcoin to others disregarding the confirmation time.

Facebook are serious in terms of privacy and security so the said query will not take place. The only possible thing that can happen is Facebook will accept bitcoin payments to their services.

The question is, do you want Facebook to know your bitcoin address and see all your transactions?
In my opinion, I would not let that happen. One of the reasons why I used bitcoin is because of anonymity.

Well, if we're going to go mainstream, this is something you'll have to get used to. Not only that but if Bitcoin is to be recognized and accepted as a currency worldwide, people using it cannot remain anonymous. Your real identity will have to be linked to your wallet address. They probably could still allow some level of anonymity, like for example regular people don't need to know who you are but the authorities/government will definitely know your identity.

I want bitcoin because of its anonymity and now you are telling us that if it goes mainstream we wil have to divulge our true identity? I don't think many will like that idea. I also do not like the idea of government knowing our identity. It is like fiats and banks all over again.

Facebook is a company that is looking for world domination by getting their users into a usury relationship. The more control they have in what they present to you,the more control they will have over you at the end of the day. You can see this in any big company.

It may seem like a great idea but look back at the Zynga poker situation where there was talk of making it a actual poker site. People where frothing at the lips thinking about all the fish this would bring to the poker scene. It died on the vine because they do not want or choose to pursue the idea. Bitcoin would go the same route as they attempted to play with it to gain more info on their users.

I think better not to integrate bitcoin payments in fb chat which may open some vulnerability to bitcoin wallets linked to facebook profiles. There are many web wallets for users that feel really missing using bitcoin daemon and light wallets. Web wallets are as easier as using paypal or other payment processor they are using everyday.

Ultimate solution for what? for this?

It's easy to have a wallet, be your own bank, trust no one, and facebook never will accept this things since they can't have profit with this idea...

Nothing for, this time, it already goes away from the bitcoin's purpose. And I guess this is never happening with us. the anonymity of bitcoin will useless for us.

I agree, actually  I found Facebook very annoying these days, too much advertisement that it took much time to load especially in a country where the internet system is too slow.  And yes I won't let Facebook monitor my bitcoin address and all my transaction.  And even if Facebook allow bitcoin integration I won't be using it because of the said issue.

Are you being serious? What do you mean 'why'? Audits, taxes, money transmission, money laundering, drug trafficking, crime... and the list goes on. You seriously think that if there are no laws in place and people are allowed to do whatever they want anonymously, everyone will just behave nicely? What happens if a wealthy Westerner suddenly finds his life purpose and decides to financially support his favorite jihad/terrorist group anonymously?

not everybody has a facebook account but i think it can be a good idea if someone can make a tipping bot for facebook where you tip with bitcoin instead of liking the posts.

it will not shoot the price up but it will be ineffective either
