I bought the domain bitminerz.com and have a temporary page setup but no real content yet.
I was thinking of including daily/regular updates about mining software, mainstream media coverage of Bitcoin, etc.
Also I was thinking I could host mining software / plug-ins for developers... not in exchange for coins, basically just as a public service for the Bitcoin community.

Other ideas:
- a consolidated ticker of exchange rates compiled from multiple sources
- unique Bitcoin dry goods (not T-shirts though, enough of those exist)
- rotating list of vendors who accept Bitcoin
- rotating list of notable Bitcoin sites
- reviews of software, hardware, pools

Anything you'd like to see in a Bitcoin news/community site?

The block chain is the main innovation of Bitcoin. It is the first distributed timestamping system.

I know it's still under construction, but I think you should center your main content area.

This is what it looks like on a big screen (note the links at the bottom are centered):

Thanks, Alex.  I forgot to ask how it looks on other browsers and settings.

it would be great, if you get all status messages from the biggest mining pools. Including uptimes and downtimes.
