Is the smartbridge feature of ARK just about a combined app for all crypto?

What is the advantage of using the smartbridge technology over an app which has combined wallets of different cryptocurrency?

If I remember correctly, you will need help from the crypto Dev to make changes to that crypto to enable smartbridge technology. There is very less chances that Bitcoin makes such changes. Bitcoin, I feel is resistant to changes.
And for Lisk, I doubt  they would help you in any way after that fight over chat.

Ethereum on the other hand , most probably would help development of smartbridge.

But if there's only one crypto available for smartbridging , it has got no meaning. We need atleast two stable ends to be connected to build a good bridge.
