I just realised that the thread's title changed from,

  • "Blockchains Interoperability with SmartBridge 🔹 ARK Core v2 & ARK Pay🔹"

to

  • "ARK - DPoS with Dynamic Fees 🔹 NO longer a fork of Lisk 🔹 New CORE v2🔹"

When was ARK a fork of Lisk? I always though that Link is copying ARK!

UPGRADE COMPLETE! The ARK Mainnet has been successfully updated to Core V2.1. Here is a full post of what the upgrade entailed, including the switch from JavaScript to TypeScript programming language.* Please note: Some exchanges may be slower to re-enable wallets due to timezone differences and procedures.

Does the migration required any user-side action?
I had a seed  of ARK wallet written somewhere - should I perform any action, or my funds will be still accessible with this old seed?

Well, you're right, Lisk is copying Ark but at the beginning Ark was forked from Lisk.
In the meantime, congrats to the team with the new release and the migration from javascript to typescript!

Nothing needs to be done from user, user shouldn't experience any difference when interacting with Ark blockchain all of this happened in the "back" with the ones who are running the network (delegates).

And what are the actual reason for migration? Understandable for common people Smiley (I am sorry, but I haven't really understood the last update in details.)

Is it easier to develop and to program on typewrite or something like that?

Are you sure that there is no action at all required? You should at least have to download another wallet or something, don't you?

As long as you have one of the latest Desktop Wallets (v2.2.x) it should work - https://github.com/ArkEcosystem/desktop-wallet/releases or latest Mobile Wallet.

I touched on the why's in the blog post:

TypeScript is also a much stricter language than JavaScript and lets you spot mistakes that could otherwise go unnoticed. It is more convenient to use and allows for quicker error debugging. For developers, very little will change as the syntax is almost the same as JavaScript (Typescript is a superset of JavaScript). It enables JavaScript developers to use highly-productive development tools and practices, like static checking and code refactoring, when developing applications. TypeScript makes perfect sense for growing projects that need to scale and have a variety of contributing developers.

Regarding the above I mean TypeScript there is an interesting post here, maybe worth reading:

What's up with the latest Ark price spike? Am I seeing this correct or is a glitch?

Probably people think it should be worth more, just like the reason why Cardano, Neo or Lisk are worth more.

That's what I've been wondering about 6 months now... "why is ARK's price under 1$?"
It's still cheap.

just open bittrex 1D chart you will know the price had touched $ 0.97 a few days ago
you can also see it on upbit exchange or oKex chart,
your price its as seen on binance,
so the price is correct as seen on all major exchanges, its not a glitch

No it's not a glitch, someone (or some group) just bought a big chunk of ARK, volume spike was really insane, it peaked to 1500+ btc /24h, when it was less less then 100 btc two days before

Thank you for your answer, I keep my ark rather as longterm investment - it is not worth much but it is one of many "lottery-like" investement - it would be so bad if ARK won but I lost it due to missed action  Roll Eyes

ARK highest price in usd when btc bullrun happen is $ 11.xx ,  I remember it because I sold my last bag on bittrex at that price in the past. where I hold my ARK bags for 1 year from the beginning,
so when the price is cheap like now is a good time to go back to buy and hold as long as I want. with a wide distance from the peak price it provides many opportunities to get maximum profit in the long run in line with the development progress that is done and when the market is bullish.
