Mining Issue GCN will not work with VLIW4 or VLIW5 Cards

I have 2 7970s and too many older AMD cards to count. I can't run the older cards with the CGN cards on the same machine, in cgminer the older cards say "hardware error" and in guiminer they just create stale shares(GPU use goes to 100% and they get hot so they are "working"). I am running SDK 2.6 on Windows 8. I have tried every mining program I can think of as well as every kernel available. The GPUs in question work fine on the same computer without the new cards. Every kernel info I read says it will work with both architectures so this leaves me a little confused. The only thing that seems obviously wrong is that CGminer reports the wrong temps/rpms for different GPUs.

Any ideas?
