Well I ordered a 5770. I was super excited that it came in today !

Then i open the box and NO 6 pin pcie connector, my psu doesnt have one !

The retail package does come with the 6 pin connector and I guess someone decided not to send me one, I have already filed a complaint for missing items, but I dont want to wait another 3-5 days to mine !! I have been CPU mining for 7-8 days and have only achieved .03 BTC ! I really needed this card to boost my MH/s .

SO, does anyone know of a guide to make a 6 pin pci-e power connector ?

update: tried a friends connector .. card doesnt wanna work anyway .. guess its going back... looks like i will never be able to mine.. by the time i order another card the difficulty will be too high for anything I can afford.

I assume you have adequate power for the card, etc. meaning it is in fact the card itself and not a lack of 75W from the connector?

I had the same problem with the same card. Extremely frustrating. I had to order it on eBay.

I think your power supply needs to be replaced with a bigger one. You may need around 500 W power supply and it usually already comes with the 6-pin connector. You should check the manufacturer's website to see what the minimum requirements are for the video card.

A 4pin to 6 pin connector might work for you.  Assuming you have adequate power from your power supply.

How to make a 6 pin pcie connector ?

You reach deep down into your wallet and pull out a rectangular piece of plastic (or paper) and say 'Yes, I'll take 2 of those' to the cashier.

Seriously.  I wouldn't try 'making' anything.  Molex to PCI-E power adapters and even PCI-E power splitters are cheap enough.  I picked up a bunch at my local shop cause I didn't want to wait for newegg's delivery.  Sure your local pc shop will have them.  They were a few bucks each.  Not a whole lot more then ordering them but without the wait.  As mentioned as long as you have enough power coming outta your PSU, it'll be fine.

If the card itself is bad, then this naturally wouldn't do anything to help.
