Huh Does anybody know if there's a functioning wallet for IOTA at the moment, as I could not find one with google - or do you have to keep these on the exchanges for the time being?...

Yeah, they have them on their guthub for linux and windows, not sure about mac.

Iotaledger is the name of their github i think

They do have Mac release, it's the .dmg file. And you're correct about the name, but here's the direct link: https://github.com/iotaledger/wallet/releases

You're probably better off downloading one of the precompiled binaries for Mac/Linux/PC instead of using the Github makefiles.  FWIW, much easier to just download a binary.

They have on github. It's available on linux, windows and mac os. Im not using it tho since im only using mobile. Anyway, they have also wallet for android platform which you can store you IOTAs. But im having a hard time figuring out the wallets. It takes too long to synchronize and not easy to use. Also you can store them on exchange like Bitfinex and Bit520(chinese exchange). Im just store them on their slack channel and have not move them since i bought them. My experience there is fine though it's operated by bot.

Indeed, but you won't be able to send those precious iotas, miotas or giga iotas using a totally different wallet.

Here's a link to a guide which helped me create a wallet using one of the github offerings.  Doesn't take too long to set up and the guide is easy to understand (one of the first wallets I set up so needed help).  Good luck!

You can download the wallet for windows but before you install read below about seed generation.

https://github.com/iotaledger/wallet/releases

To generate the seed load the page below, disconnect the internet, move the mouse around, save the seed, close the browser, clear the browser coach, After that connect again to internet and install the wallet
