What do you mean the wallet is encrypted? Did you password protect it?
Yes, that's what it usually means when someone says 'encrypted' wallet for Bitcoin Core.

Based on my experience in this forum,
usually and
newbie are mutually exclusive especially when the newbie spells the word newbie as
noobie. For all I know, he might have encrypted a backup of his unencrypted wallet.dat file using AES-Crypt because a buddy told him it was rad protection and if that were the case, my advice would have been
very different.
By the way OP, you can certainly trust Lauda with your wallet.dat file if you wanted to take that route.
