Ano ang vDice.io?

Pasensya na, wala akong tiwala sa ICO nila. Code is law, but who made the code. For sure, maganda na meron galing sa original ETH team. Pero sila sila rin. Walang trusted third party, yong independent. Sasabihin nila na ang code yung "third party"... At lumang style na ang "on-chain" gambling na ginagaya ang lumang SatoshiDice. Napansin nyo ba na meron na sila "off-chain" betting sa SatoshiDice, kasi lahat ng major kalaban nila ay off-chain simula pa lang. At ang ETH maraming problema parin, dalawang hard fork na, meron pa yan.

The block times are about 17 seconds. (Ethstats say 14 seconds now). But some Royal Bank of Scotland ? tried something that did 100 transactions per second. So, I'm just not clear how that all works. To be frank, I simply do not understand it.

I guess a decentralized, smart contract powered crowdsale is the thing to do. I've just never been a fan of completely automating stuff like that to computers or machines.

ETH has only been out for 2 years.

Actually, I'd like to know if something like this can be done for poker (not sure if pokereum is doing this.)

Hindi ko na makita yung classic satoshi dice. It was just a page that monitored the addresses on the blockchain, meron list, and you can bet by directly sending to those addresses. Within a few seconds, alam mo kung nanalo ka o hindi.

It was provably fair for players because they used your transaction hash (player generated) and a server secret to determine the roll.
