MP is teaching you a lesson. Learn it and move on.
So from now on, online shopping is history. You can not trust anyone.
In fact you can do nothing anymore in this world. Who can you trust? No one. Even judges, governments. Especially not the latter.

No. The site, if gone for good, committed a crime.
If more people join maybe a class action suite is possible. Especially in this case where the site existed for nearly 10 years.

Since the domain expired and later on went online how do we know that its the same owner? Sometimes people wait until a domain gets past its expiry renewal period and they copy the entire website and then launch it themselves.

Either way, the thread should be locked to prevent more people from losing their BTC.

Thread should be kept open if people take juridical actions which can help other victims

I have used Bitbet.us occasionally for years and had 1.5 BTC in open bets on the site. Considering that the site has been down for days without any announcement, I am concerned that the owner chose to take the money and run.

However, I can confirm that none of my deposit transactions have yet been moved.

Thanks for sharing.
I can also confirm, that none of my deposit transactions have been moved (1 BTC), yet.
Is there any list of the running bets with their resolve dates (my bet ends this year)?
If payouts occur then it's only a frontend problem.

Keep us updated

There is a bet that is due to resolve on April 25th. I have taken outgoing addresses for those bets and I will be able to see if any funds will be sent to them after the resolution time has passed. However, I believe that the owner has to resolve bets manually. If he isn't online to answer any emails or update social media, it isn't very likely that these bets will be resolved.

I think they are just expired not closed by anything.. the domain just expired and now they are alive again..
People are just thinking to much about the domain even the site is just has expired date..

It would be nice to see some words on their front-page what really happened. Including answering some of my emails asking for whats going on.. I'm glad it's back, but still weird to see all the silence about what happened about the outage.

I used to play in bitbet.us for a year or more, I had some money their when it got closed or you may say domain expired. But it was down for some months now and up again, may be someone bought it again and started. I feel the owner has been changed because they had a stable site for 4 years. They would not let the domain get excited with the trust they were holding for 4 years.

Hello,

https://bitbet.us is back online.

We experienced yet another DDos and request for ransom (which we - as usual - refused to pay).

It took us way too long to get back online, our apologies for that, but we're now fully back up and running.

As usual, all customer funds are safe and sound as these are kept in cold storage.

its really sad to see a decent site go down for what i consider a very simple case a bad management.. but as we all know there are 10 new sites for every old one that dies!

Unless being under a ddos attack counts as "bad management" in your book, that is not what happened here. BitBet is and has been profitable, and not a satoshi of our user's funds has been lost.

MP is teaching you a lesson. Learn it and move on.

Mircea Popescu has sold BitBet to us about a year ago and is in no way shape or form involved with BitBet.

Hi, can anyone confirm it is permanently down this time? Any source?
I've got one bet there still open (1 bitcoin). Any info i appreciate. Reddit forums do not say much about this issue. Also mails to info@bitbet.us are not responded.

I still refuse to believe this is down permanently. Again: any source of information is welcome.

We are back up Smiley

We were down for too long indeed, but we believe you are jumping to conclusions too fast.

You're confused about what the lesson here is.  The lesson is to do your due diligence before sending BTC not after.  Then as long as bitcoin network still works you can continue to transact without anyone giving you permission.

Looks like it is back up. We advertise for betbit.com, which is a similair domain name, but much better games. Live dealer games with bitcoins instead of dice.

Very cool.

They let the domain name expire?

http://whois.domaintools.com/bitbet.us
Bitbet.us is not shutdown by the government or any serious thing that may stop bitbet.us.It is just the domain name expired and the site owner or developer didnt renew or pay for it again because maybe site is not earning a good amount to pay with the domain expenses

I think the owner already posted here above check his post he said their site is under ddos attack that is why the site was down few days ago.. and i think they already fix the issue. the site is now active and i think you can now contact the support which is already posted here check the post above..
