Difference of no mentor in Dragon tale?

Hi guys i would like to ask what is the difference if you have a mentor or no?
Because when i was play dragon tale in the first time and play some games like poultry or ducks when i was win i made a large profit without mentor.. but when i was enroll with mentor every time i win i make a small profit..
Can you give some idea for those who are playing dragon tale..
