Gotta tell you, though I'm more or less a bitcoin bull, shorting it might be a good way to make some quick money.  Hopefully you'll close out your position in time and won't get squashed.  I do not have the testiclats to short anything.  You need to have a good pair of boys for that.  Because if bitcoin went to $1000 tomorrow (could happen), you're dead.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Why shorting on a potentional ATH rally?
Why selling anyways? Just buy and hold for 10 years like stocks.
Invate me later on your new boat.
If you like to gamble go play poker. Bitcorn is nothing like stocks.
you never know what the future holds, this is a new platform and you cant just invest a amount and sit on it for ten years thinking it will be a bright one, everyone expects this to be the solution to the economic slides and no one can predict what the price will be ,so be cautious while you are investing

I prefer having long positions just for now. What are arguments for btc to depreciate? I mean6 except technical analysis instruments. BTC has been doing well lately, no negative news, correct me if I am wrong.

Wouldn't it be better to keep it on long position for a while? I mean there are no dark clouds on the Bitcoin horizont for now. We can't predict the future exactly and the fall down is always possible but at this very moment there is no fear for it. So I would go for long.

I am actually also not very bullish for the short-term.  We went up fast and hit resistance.  Some consolidation (we might not drop a lot though) is in order before we go to Mars.

Geez, we have gone up like $70 over 11 days. That's not "going up too fast"

If it was a quick short that certainly was a good call. The price is looking a little sporty now. Time to close and wait.

OP, ask, has usually been a voice of reason over the past few years on this forum. I'd hate to see anyone lose their money, especially ask. I hope he had closed his short position already.

I've been saying btc price would rise until the end of the year. Just be prepared for a huge crash in January 2017.

The price will crash after a huge spike fomo buy-in followed by a double top, this is not the buying spree yet...
