you all know that bitcoin-central / instawallet announced a security breach a few days  back.

anyway, and to cut a long way short, today i managed to trade some euros to btc's and send them to another address.
they never got there.
the transaction's status is "pending" for hours now.

i looked up both sender's and receiver's addresses and hashes in Bitcoin Block Explorer and there's nothing there, both addresses have never been used.

i raised a new support ticket to bitcoin-central but no answer yet.

i fully understand the complexity of the come-back, but there is no information given out to customers.

i am already worried...

this is my first ever involvement  with the bitcoin world and it might be the last if i lose those money, in this way.

does any other experienced sth like that?

Im experiencing the same problem with a small amount of BTC. Rumour has it that either:

1. all our BTC are gone with the wind (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=170196.msg1769415#msg1769415)
2. bitcoin-central has most bitcoins in cold-storage and is facing a lot of withdrawals now. IT doesn't have enough BTC "online" for the transactions.

let's hope for #1.

This is just another reminder to choose whom you trust. And don't keep your bitcoins in online wallets.

i mean if you are registered to bitcoin-central you *use* instawallet?

I have the same problem: trying to sell some BTC to cash in: trades keep status "Pending".

Opened a support ticket too, hoping for an answer.

Let's hope they solve this!

Well, for the time that you're trading, you keep your bitcoins or euros in your bitcoin-central account until you withdraw them. So your account serves as a wallet. Same is true for mtgox or others.
I usually withdraw them immediately an keep them in my own wallet because you never know how long an exchange site will be online - as we are experiencing now.
However, this time I was too lazy...

is it true that for the time being they process all transactions in manual?
it's going to take days... and this isn't the worse case scenario.

From https://bitcoin-central.net/notice_2013_04_06

BTC withdraws will be processed manually for the next couple of days until we switch back to immediate automatic withdraws.
This temporary restriction is meant to allow careful monitoring of our operations in the initial phase of the recovery.

Hello,

I made a BTC withdrawal yesterday at 12:30AM.
Transaction was pending until today 10:00AM.
Now it is done.
It has been way more longer than usual but it works.
