OMG Announcement from AurumCoin
a total of 15,752.26 AU is missing from Cryptopia’s wallet

IS THIS TRUE? YES OR NO?

Just fake news !

It is not True.

Cryptopia wasn't hacked or something else !

The wallet was placed into maintenance while we investigate network issues.
Thank why don't you give to withdraw the coins?
Are you official represent cryptopia? Why they not say this on Website?
Maybe who knows about this stolen coins hide this from you? Is it possible?
Answer of cryptopia

"Thank you for contacting Cryptopia Support.

Our recent Aurum Coin investigations have concluded that the AU network was victim to a 51% attack. We are in contact with the AU team and are trying to reconcile the resulting issues, will provide further updates in the near future.
We appreciate your patience while we work to resolve the resulting issues.

Kind regards,
Olivia"

Lafu are you from cryptopia at all?

Lafu, after you checked this, what is your response?
When market will be open?
When can I withdraw AU coins?
Do cryptopia admit that it lost coins from its wallets?
There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

How to contact the Exchange Administration? I'm tired of waiting!!!!

Like suggested earlier. Post your transaction details from the blockchain on here.

The process is described on their risk statement can be viewed here: https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/Home/RiskStatement

I'm not sure why news articles keep regurgitating the same untruths.
Quote
What’s worse is that cryptopia exchange do not admit it. This is not the way to solve this problem.”
Waht did they not admit ? It is published on their website. https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/CoinInfo/?coin=AU

At least that article explains it accurately:
Quote
However, the fact is, AurumCoin lacked the hash rate to prevent a 51 percent attack

https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/CoinInfo/?coin=AU

Note the date of the Cryptopia statement: 9 November

Check the date of the Aurumcoin website:
10 November: https://archive.fo/iNLQa
Quote
Cryptopia exchange was hacked, a total of 15,752.26 AU is missing from Cryptopia’s wallet

11 November: https://archive.fo/cOcYF
Quote
Cryptopia exchange was hacked (51% attack), a total of 15,752.26 AU is missing from Cryptopia’s wallet. Aurum coin network is not the responsibility of anyone, same as Bitcoin network, it is open source distributed crypto currency. What’s worse is that cryptopia exchange do not admit it. This is not the way to solve this problem.

Whenever there is an issue there is an investigation and a report is made to the relevant authorities. This can take time.
I don't know what the amount of coins were involved but 15K of Aurumcoin was worth around $50K in October. Which is less than the cost of listing a new coin on Cryptopia.

Coins pay to be listed on Cryptopia.

Part of the listing criteria is their ongoing obligations:

https://support.cryptopia.co.nz/csm?id=kb_article&sys_id=5d7482d2db9e9bc032a664a14a96199f

It includes:

Quote
You need to give us notice of the following:
Major issues with your coin, including hacks or network problems, as soon as you become aware of them.

https://cryptohub.online/ 80% of AU held by Cryptohub stolen
This stolen AU could have been used for the 51% attack.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1165615.1240
Did Aurumcoin inform Cryptopia of previous 51% attacks ?

Quote
Is your protocol and consensus mechanism secure? We may decline coins we think are vulnerable to 51% attacks.

Quote
Be aware of our delisting policy and your ongoing obligations:

Cryptopia reserves the right to remove any coin listed in its exchange markets for violations of our listing terms. This is solely at our discretion. Reasons a coin may be eligible for delisting include, but are not limited to:

Any network issues or vulnerabilities that could be exploited. Examples include:
Low hash-rate.

Reason to delist:
https://support.cryptopia.co.nz/csm?id=kb_article&sys_id=b8aa010ddb452b80d7e096888a961934

Quote
The following criteria are required to be met by coin projects at the time of the listing:

Active and visible development team with at least two contacts given to Cryptopia (Lead Developer and CEO or Marketing Representative).

Quote
Below is a list of factors that are being constantly reviewed by our Cryptopia Service Delivery Team that may result in a token/ coin being delisted:

The token/ coin no longer meets our listing criteria.
A loss of, or poor communication between coin teams and our Cryptopia Listing Team.
Project is abandoned, *e.g.: No visible coin team, no working block explorer, no active updates on code repo, or no working website.
The token's/ coin's blockchain becomes compromised or there exists a possibility to be compromised based on hash rate, namely a 51% attack.

Disclaimer:  I am not Cryptopia staff. I am a volunteer moderator for their trollbox and discord channel and user of their services. Cryptopia does not have staff that answer questions on Bitcointalk as it is not recognized as an official communications channel. I am not authorised to provide any statements on behalf of Cryptopia. This is personal opinion only.

When a 51% attack occurs it means that the coin blockchain is neither immutable nor decentralized.

When a 51% attack occurs the transactions that occur and the blockchain mining is entirely controlled by the attacker.

In order for a 51% attack to occur the blockchain (which is coded by Aurumcoin Developers) provides confirmations that appear on the block explorer which is provided by Aurumcoin (part of the listing conditions) which are produced by the nodes (which use the code produced by the Aurumcoin developers). These confirmations are then accepted by the wallet code (which is made and provided by Aurumcoin).  These confirmations are later rejected by the Aurumcoin network and orphaned. The transactions that now make up part of the blockchain were privately mined and not broadcast publicly. It is a clear exploit of the Aurumcoin Blockchain.

A coin network can prevent a 51% attack by:

Providing sufficient mining reward.
Utilizing a hybrid POW, POS network (or masternodes).
Making the algorithm that is ASIC resistant to make it difficult to rent sufficient hashrate to perform an attack.
Introducing checkpointing.
Utilizing other technical solutions.

An exchange can prevent a 51% attack by:

Not accepting any deposits / de-listing a coin.

An exchange can make a 51% more difficult by:

Increasing required confirmations to over 200 confirmations
(More confirmations will just result in longer / more costly attacks)
Time-locking user funds so they cannot withdraw it from the exchange.

I explained it here: 51% attacks explained

Great if this such a small deal (all AU stolen from cryptopia is worth less than listing a coin to cryptopia)
Then bring me back my coins!!!

Hey guys, I know it happens often to the site but never got this problem since, and today is the first time a message is displayed "Deposits under investigation, etc" It's already 3 or 4 days since. How many days on average it usually take to Cryptopia to resolve such issues? Can it takes over a week?

Every situation is different.

You need to talk to Cryptopia directly (via their official support system)

It is likely that they are unable to provide a timeline if it is an ongoing investigation involving external agencies.

Okay I see, I didn't know Lafu and You were just volunteer moderators. But at the same time, I thought to myself if there is a member who is passing through here and who already experienced this situation... I'll wait until early next week before creating a support ticket, not in hurry yet, thanks btw  Smiley

@xtraelv are you cryptopia representative?
Cryptopia brings us customers our AU coins now!!!!
Everybody knows that this coin is not gold backed now but it will be, this is the first coin to declare that he wants to be attached to gold since 2014 long before ETH and all new gold backed ICO this is why this coins is AU symbol, so I have no clame to AurumCoin but to cryptopia I have claimes.
I am your customer I pay you fees, you hold my coins for me. So or you bring back all my Aurumcoins or you bring me back 1,280usd for every coin I hold in your scammy exchange that I see in my balance and cannot withdraw.

Obviously you can't read and live in a fantasy world.

1) I've clearly stated previously numerous times that I am not Cryptopia staff nor authorized to speak on their behalf.
2) You want Cryptopia to pay you 1,280usd per coin for a coin that traded for less than $4 when the exploit occurred and has not had any volume sales since.
3) You blame Cryptopia for an exploit that happened entirely on the Aurumcoin network, that hasn't been fixed, hasn't been re-embursed and the coin devs are  attempting to shift the blame. No attempt by Aurumcoin has been made to identify the attacker nor re-emburse for any loss that occurred due to an exploit on the coin network they created.
4) You and Aurumcoin keep on making proven false claims that negatively affect the investments that I have.
5) A coin that you shill and appear to represent caused a loss to me.

How much further do you want to take this ?

1. So shut up
2. Yes or let me withdraw my AU
3. Yes! They could mine, manage the nodes and see anomality, they were robbed and they have fault.
4. I only care about my investements.
5. Only time will tell

I recomend not to invest in cryptopia, because they freez markets and dont bring back coins.

Since yesterday (21 November 2018),

HSHARE (HSR) has been put into delisting status due to a coin swap that Cryptopia has decided not to participate in. HSR will be fully delisted on 21 December 2018.

Trade markets are now closed, and we recommend cancelling any open orders of HSR on your account so that all held balances are available for withdrawal.

To ensure that your funds are off the exchange before HSR is removed, please withdraw any balances to a wallet where you control your private keys before going through the swap process.
For additional information on how to swap your HSHARE to HCASH, please refer to the following links.

Links and Info about the Swap

Cryptopia is in no way endorsing these links or their safety.

No answer, no news, no support, no coins in wallet! Meanwhile Poloniex immediately refreshed the availability after the fork, they did not even asked you to withdraw.

After conducting a thorough review, it has been determined that the following coins no longer comply with our Listing Policy and as such,
will be permanently delisted on the date provided. Trade markets are now closed, and we recommend cancelling any open orders.
If you are currently holding a coin listed below, please withdraw any remaining balances to a compatible wallet at your earliest convenience.

The coins displaying an asterisk (*) have broken blockchains or wallet that will not allow withdrawals.
This issue is not due to Cryptopia but caused by a problem with the underlying blockchain or wallet associated with that coin.
Please do NOT contact us about this issue as there is nothing we can do to assist.
Any queries or issues locating a compatible wallet or block explorer should be directed to the coin's developers.

The Date behind the Coins is the final delisting !

@Lafu
How would you comment the Bitcoin Cash situation in Cryptopia? What is happening? When will it be resolved?
