A few hours ago, the Swiss company Sooho published a report  analysing all the movements of funds that had gone missing in the wake of the attack on Cryptopia, which resulted in the loss of several million dollars from the platform.

https://medium.com/soohoio/malicious-crypto-transaction-report-2-cryptocurrencies-of-hacker-who-attacked-cryptopia-flowed-f421f0c0ada1

The followed figure is a result that we tracked cryptopia hacker’s cryptocurrency flow. And you can check that some cryptocurrencies inflowed to Yobit.

Key figures
Amount taken from Cryptopia : 30788.732011 ETH
Amount flowed to Yobit : 1420 ETH
Amount flowed to EtherDelta : 9000 ETH
Amount deposited address in purple : 17,254.553271203880180626 ETH
Amount deposited address in green : 3,589.9961822 ETH
We confirmed that some of the leaked Ether from the hacking of Cryptopia on the New Zealand exchange in January 19 was deposited on the Yobit on September 22 and 23.
Flow of the cryptocurrencies
The below are the details of the movement of the cryptocurrencies.
Amount taken from Cryptopia was total 30788.732011 ETH.
Most of the funds are still deposited at 0x845f93f489b524f19864db6e0ab581c532b58d36 (approximately 17,255 ETH).
During the transfer of funds from Hacker’s account to 0x845f93f489b524f19864db6e0ab581c532b58d36, 9,000 ETH flowed into EtherDelta in May after several carrying addresses.
After September, 5010 ETH among the amount deposited at 0x845f93f489b524f19864db6e0ab581c532b58d36 transferred to 0xd759ea4c6e8e2c77b7e04eeebc1fac32ed332dcc
Again, 1420 ETH among the 5010 ETH was transferred to 4 addresses that are included in Yobit.
The remain — about 3600ETH — are transferred to 0x3a840d0164acca60292a6b594531dfc98af2701d and still stay there.
Therefore, it is required for Yobit to do further investigation for the relevant addresses listed below. In addition, each exchange should register the following address as Blacklist as soon as possible, and do monitoring.

As of now everything is being handled by the courts. If I was located near Cryptopia headquarters I would go to the courts and demand a hearing in front of a judge to explain what has happened with this Cryptopia scam.

The courts have only been listening to the shady liquidator Grant Thornton give a one sided con job and not tell the whole truth about what has happened.

Now of course I mean anyone but shyto disaster. That shemale  is obviously working for Cryptopia to silence any criticism with childish insults and third grade taunts.

If you're such a bad ass that is so outraged by what's happened, why don't you fly over there and kick down the door instead of begging others to do it for you.

Yeah that was awesome. On the other hand, I'm not sure what the liquidators have done to warrant that. But I certainly understand that they're the next best thing.

What are the ex-owners of Cryptopia doing nowadays?

Is there any news about them? Are they on bail or just simply not charged thus free without legal condition?

The owners at the time of it going down? Or the original guy? Last I saw he's working on some stuff for some other company. Rumor was he was going to open another exchange but then of course he shut down that idea due to what happened with this one. I think he coded or had something to do with the TradeSatoshi code which I thought one could get to open up their own exchange. Could be wrong about that though.

The owners at the time of it going down were not charged with a crime?

Does anybody know what the full amount in USD$ was that the exchange owed when it as closed down?

This thread is full of so much bullshit here's an update -

https://www.grantthornton.co.nz/update-for-cryptopia-account-holders-25-October-2019/

Of note: -

KYC is MANDATORY, so fuckwits like sisquo2121 can kiss their shit goodbye as he/she/it has stated many times it has no id        documents, why the fuck that is only his vet will know. If really in Canada guessing he's a moose.

Customers did not have individual wallets and it is impossible to determine individual ownership using just the keys in the wallets. While Cryptopia held details of customer holdings and reported these on the Exchange, the crypto-assets themselves were pooled (co-mingled) in coin wallets. As a centralised exchange, customers' trades would occur in the exchange's internal ledger without confirmation on the blockchain.
No detailed reconciliation process between the customer databases and the crypto-assets held in the wallets has ever been completed.
This process is well underway and will still take some time to complete. We are working to reconcile the accounts of over 900,000 customers, many holding multiple crypto-assets, millions of transactions and over 400 different crypto-assets.

So we have a very very long wait ahead of us. Multi year at this rate.

On the plus side they sold a good few pot plants and some booger covered desks.

I only had 2k stolen. I'm not going spend 4k to fly to that third world country just to try and get back half of what I lost. Now for you cowards that live near the building  you should be knocking down the door and taking bats to them. You just sit there and do nothing. Youre just useless cowards.

Furthermore I'm not begging anyone to do anything. I'm stating what a person who lives close by should be doing.  If you want to be a useless coward and drive by just looking at them then thats your cowardly way of handling things.

It was not that huge of a company to have a crowd of people living near them.
Crypto itself is not mainstream yet, few of these users were trusting Cryptopia, even fewer were stupid or unlucky enough to hold big amounts in an exchange's wallets, and even fewer were unable to withdraw within the time they enabled withdraws.
So, if you and 3 or 4 other foreign people would go to a company's building with bats on your hands, congratulations to you! I wouldn't be so brave to do that.

The part of that update i found most interesting:

that seems fucked but i guess they have it all figured out already...  /s

This is just stalling tactics. These guys have the exact amounts each person is owed. All they have to do is sync each wallet which should take a couple weeks max to sync . Then use automated email software , combined with the database of users emails, to email every customer and have them create their own temporary username and password.

The customer would then login and upload a drivers license and a pic holding some paper with writing on it. Some artificial intelligence automated facial recognition software can verify the two pics automatically. Nothing needs to be done manually. The customers can then withdraw the coins. This nonsense about being complicated is a joke. These guys are just stalling and not doing a damn thing to sync the wallets and gets us back our coins.

I want to know when the lawsuits are going to be starting so I can join a class action lawsuit against Cryptopia. We need independent experts taking over this operation because Grant Thornton is a paid hire and they are doing everything they possibly can to lie, cheat, and steal to make sure we don't get what is ours.

This punk SHYTO DISASTER, otherwise known as CAITLIN JENNERS BEST FREIND, is a Cryptopia employee like BEN THE ANON. He's just a more belligerent version. He's going to claim its going to take years because that's what him, Grant Thornton and the Cryptopia criminals want you to think.

We need to bring independent industry experts in to analyse these wallets and find a solution; Then present their findings to a New Zealand judge.

Grant Thornton employees  are just conning their way through this and not one word they have said is believable. This is going to turn into a criminal investigation soon and the lawsuits will start to fly. We have waited long enough to get our coins back.

Other exchanges lose 10 times as many coins and pay users back within weeks. We have waited 10 months and these assholes haven't even begun syncing wallets and setting up a system to pay people back.

You couldn't afford to fly anyone anywhere with the 5 cents you have in your bank account.
If you're such a bad ass that is so outraged by what's happened, why don't you fly over there and kick down the door instead of begging others to do it for you.

Its become quite obvious who the Cryptopia plants are,  your lies and deception are blatantly obvious.  Nobody every said a lot of people live near the office, but some people who were scammed do live near the office and its those people who should storm the building.  Do you like to just make things up and claim those as fact.

Furthermore, some people trade coins and had buy and sell orders on the exchange when the hack happened and the coins they had were never allowed to be withdrawn after the hack.

Someone like me was not simply having Cryptopia hold my coins you moron, I was trading the coins and had the buy and sell orders set up when the hack happened.
Not once after the hack did I get to withdraw a damn coin.

And more info coming out of the liquidators offices

https://eng.ambcrypto.com/cryptopia-holds-cryptocurrencies-worth-nzd-200-million-and-nzd-6-million-in-assets/

Additionally, the document stated that the digital assets held by the liquidators as of 1 October 2019, equated to NZD 200 million, subject to price fluctuations and that the assets were worth NZD 6 million.

I hope they'll re-open a read-only version of the website soon. Makes it much easier for customers to provide evidence of their holdings before the hack.

I personally could withdraw my coins, but left them on the stock exchange for trading in solidarity with the hacked trading platform to help the company recover from an incident with its small commission fees.
It is a pity that Cryptopia turned out to be such crap and I stayed among the fools.
