The reason he is asking for 1 BTC is because he cannot get it himself, either through his dwolla or his low mhash.

He may be genuine but from an investor and this kid not being your son this a high risk investment. lol, good luck.
The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

My guess agrees with Precog's guess about this situation.
But there is only one way to find the facts, and I'm willing to do that.
No one else was willing to take the risk and put up one BitCoin.
Others have only posted guesses, and to warn this will turn out badly.
It may.
Either way, I'll post here.

Wait, why cant the OP just buy some coins to start himself off?

Not a miner.  An investor, speculator, and enthusiast.

Whiplash450 is overlooking the fact that, for some people posting here, English is a foreign language.

And that might also be the case for someone who doesn't know that a proper sentence begins with a capital letter and ends with a period.

If you want to flip Bitcoin, why not just open a brokerage account and trade penny stocks or maybe even forex if you have the money for it. You did say you made a few Gs trading PEDs. If you're underage, ask your parents to open a joint account.

You need a web designer? I'm offering big agency quality, without the big agency invoices!
Drop me a message; will work for BTC, LTC & PPC =]
