The best pool for zcash? I am already with flypool.

Maybe try https://zec.suprnova.cc - best support, ocminer is also in slack

I don't like suprnova pools since their site is buggy and the hashrate is 20% less than other pools. Similarly, nanopool is giving 15% less not only in ZEC but in ETH and ETC compared to the best pools. Currently I am using flypool and for now I get the best results both in local hashrate and in their statistics. May be 15-20% better at least for the past 24 hours. I will test coinmine if the hashrate drops. I wish dwarfpool had zec, there the ETH  hashrate  is nearly the same as my local hashrate...

Been using nanopool for a couple days.  It's crashed once, but other than that very steady and a better dashboard.

I think Nanopool is a scam.  I wrote on their Zcash thread on how the pay was so low.  They responded that it must have been a bug and they've just updated their wallet system.  I have 6000K on that pool and was getting paid less than my buddy who have only 4500K on Suprnova.cc.  We're talking big money discrepancy since Zcash was paying very high during the first week.  The pool definitely was very stable, I left flypool because it was unstable.  Nanopool = Nanopay!   Even their payment system was terrible first week, they say payout 4 times a day but didn't pay for like 24hrs.  They fixed it after I complained on the thread.  Check their thread for twim1211 comments.  That's me.  Let's hope they clean up their issue, otherwise no miners going to want to stay.  If you mine there, check their stats.  Even their estimate pay stats shows like 25% less than whattomine even when your 6hrs average max current hash rate.   I do like their interface.  That pool cost me a ton of money with the slow payment first week as each day ZEC would drop so much.  Their payment is very fast now, but their pay rate for your hash is still questionable.

They did the exact same thing on sia a while back.

I complained and pointed out that they were underpaying miners and a few hours later an extra payment magically appeared to everyone.
As well they fixed the issue.

I think when the dust settles, ETH will be maybe 10% more profitable then ZEC due to the fact that it uses less electricity.

eTH uses less?

No it doesn't, this statement is wrong. Mining Eth absolutely uses more power than ZEC with all clocks and voltages the same.

As for dual mining, I concur with the fact that solo mining Eth is more profitable. You actually lose money mining SIA or DCR as the extra electricity cost is more than what you mine.

@Walrusbonzo - yes i agreee with you, i use around 10-15% less power mining ZEC than ETH, it was lower but the newest version of claymore raised power use by around 5% across the board.  But even with the higer power use Eth only seems to be alot more profitable than ZEC now

Yes, the newer version of Claymore does use about 5% more power, but also gives around 5% more sols, so it's about even in that regard.

The thing is, when keeping settings the same you can switch from ETH to ZEC and notice about a 10% power drop with no other effort as has already been mentioned, but if you make a custom ZEC WattTool profile you can drop another 10% off this as ZEC will allow you to drop the wattage more than ETH will without crashing. So it is a bit more work, but I modified my launch batch files to run WattTool with GPU initialization files customized to ZEC for lower power and another customized for ETH.

Yeah i did notice you can run lower wattage offsets with ZEC, can you share your batch file ?  I already have a watttool profile init for eth , but you cant run this until the mining starts or the machine will crash due to the default wattage already being low, i.e you need to run the watttool set batch file 2-3 mins after the miner has starterd.

I use modified BIOS for all my cards with a higher idle GPU voltage to counteract this issue. You should give it a try Smiley

Runing V2 from the first day release and 100% for me! more Hash in RX480/RX470/R9 290/R9 280 confirmed! when we have a dual mining option? ETH and ZEC? because Zec dont use very well the GPU, the 150W decrease of Watts usage can confirme that (comparing to ETH mining).... ETH in 4x RX470 8GB and 1 RX480 8GB from wall 800W, with the ZEC only draw 640Watts from wall.

I doubt very much that V2.0 caused it, most likely you already had a hardware issue waiting to happen.

Hello, i have a strange problem. In device manager i see all my 6 cards(rx480 8gb) but radeon detects only 5 and it mines with 5. Any idea? The card is working since it was mining without any problems before i preinstalled windows. I will appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.

Use DDU:

http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html

Uninstall drivers in safe mode.

Reinstall latest drivers (or 16.9.2, very good) making sure Windows detects all 6 cards before you do.

That same thing has happened to me too  Grin
I didt it and didnt work Sad any other suggestions? Is so strange cuz it detects it on device manager but radeon and miner do not. I tried with the latest driver but will also try with 16.9.2.

v2.1:

- added "-i" option for adjusting mining intensity and CPU usage.
- improved speed for high intensity mode ("-i 2"), about 60H/s on stock 390X, 50H/s on stock 280X.
- since nicehash cannot upgrade their ddos protection, now "-allpools 1" is required for this pool.

PS. OpenCL API uses CPU to wait response from GPU in high intensity mode so it's not easy to fix this issue completely, currently you can use "-i 0" option if you have low-end CPU.

Please read Readme and FAQ in the first post of this thread before asking any questions, probably the answer is already there.

Hi All,

The Zcash GPU AMD Miner is awesome!  It's rocking my AMD Nitro Radeon Rx 480 @ about 45 h/s (other miners are half of that with this card).  Question for you is, I saw that some other miners do both GPU and CPU at the same time, like the one for nicehash (neqminer).  Do you have any plans to add so we can squeeze a few more hashes out at the same time with CPU and GPU?  I tried to use the over clock -cclock in the config and fried my windows, would not boot anymore.  I do not have any idea what I am doing so I had that coming.  I just put in -cclock 1500.  Also, is there any recommendations for this card that I can get a few more hashes from GPU mining without blowing it up again Smiley

I am on:

Windows 7 Ultimate with the Radeon rx 480 8GB.
24 GB Memory
i5 Intel 2310 2.90 GHZ 4 processors

Is there anything I can do to tweak this to squeeze a few more hashes out of it.

Is the lack of a Linux version due to a technical issue with your ability to pack the code or something to obfuscate? Logically the only reason the Linux version has been pulled is that was the version used to determine you copied some of mrb's code. Glad it was worked out between the two of you, but the reluctance to support it now moving forward is a bit confusing if all is well.

why bother with SC it used to pay for power costs now even with 50k hash in SC you make $500 usd for the month, its not even worth the power anymore

mining ETH by itself is better imo

You mean that mining SC as a second coin is not profitable? It takes more electricity than I can earn?
