50 TO 70 PERCENT LOAD IS OPTIMAL--
The PSU will degrade faster at higher load. That is the fact. A good PSU will work at 90% load, but it will wear out at a faster rate as the components degrade more rapidly. --scryptr
Optimal for what? It's possible to argue that if you won't unpack your PSU it will be even better for its longevity. However personal attachment to the quality of the PSU capacitors and/or whatever internal components may degrade with time should be outweighed by the practical needs and financial reasoning... Efficiency curve, for starters. Some PSUs can reach up into the next tier of 80+ rating if at 45-65%, and that can sometimes pay for itself in power savings within the warranty period of the PSU. The second is Capacitors hate heat, they'll degrade in higher temperatures than cooler ones, and as they degrade they'll drop your actual max load, so keeping in the upper range of the curve provides both higher efficiency and longer lifespans of the PSU, so you aren't having to pay for a replacement every ~3 years. If it stays cool enough it might still be working for you 8 years down the road, even. May not be the best for immediate start-up costs but will absolutely have its benefits if you stay in the game.

In a few days. I don't like the hashrate I see currently, so I need some time to check possible ways to make it work faster.

Claymore could you add GPU number when got this error "Got 511 incorrect temperature. Ignore". I dont know which GPU made this error so it's hard to solve the problem.
By the way could you arrange GPU number position like new Ethereum miner?

Just buy a Gold EVGA PSU, warranty 5 years or more. Run it 90% its less efficient though - you are losing maybe 5% efficiency - but it won't explode. I have a PSU with 10 year warranty, another 7 years, most are 5...So if they pop well, that sucks because of downtime, but I get a replacement. Only buy high quality PSU. check johny guru. even evga has PSU's I wouldnt buy.

That is right. I also just use Platinum PSU now.

That is right. I also just use Platinum PSU now. Corsair HX1000i (platinum) or RM1000i (gold). Good, strong PSUs that you can run up to full rated power and can run program to see power usage and efficiency.

Claymore then is there a way you could get the R9 Fiji working with 17.7.2 or the incoming driver instead 16.3.2?

There are rumors Vega will be 3x faster than Fiji when it comes to hashing power. True/false?

guess we won't know for sure till week after next, I saw some place they should finally release on the 14th or 15th this month which is prefect for me, i can buy one then, ill have 450 $ from mining, to spend in about the time they release. Here is one of the rumors http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/rumor-radeon-rx-vega-cards-look-to-be-insanely-good-crypto-currency-miners.html I found a few on YouTube . hope the pricing i saw some place else is true I'll get one of the 399.00 $ version with air cooling and water cool it later on and about two weeks later should have enough for one more, it all depends on the Price .

Im having issues with this error also, though still not sure if it's hardware or software causing it. Keeps crashing my fury rig after miner/afterburner reports insane temps on one card, but it doesn't seem to be consistently the same gpu. Might be the open box mobo or lack of sleep, but I haven't had this much trouble in a while. Msi afterburner reports one gpu reaching 300c-500c right before locking up. 16.3.2 the only drivers that work for Fiji?

Yes I will do it, but not in upcoming version because I will release it in a few hours, its main feature is ASM mode for Baffin (RX460/560) and Vega.

v12.6:
- added Vega cards support (ASM mode). - added ASM mode for RX460/560 cards (+20% speed). - new GPU sorting method for AMD cards. Now GPUs are sorted by physical bus index (it matches AfterBurner list of GPUs). Also the list of temperatures/fans matches the list of GPUs automatically. Therefore "-di detect" and "-gmap" options are not necessary and not supported anymore. WARNING: be careful if you use use separate overclock/temperature settings for every card, due to new sorting method GPUs can get different indexes! - added fan/OC support for 17.7.2 (and higher) drivers. - improved support for systems with more than 10 GPUs, check readme for "-di" option description for details. - added pool selection in runtime ("e" key). - a few minor improvements.

Thanks for the efforts. So if we have old cards, there is no need to upgrade.
