Am I the only person here who can't get the blockchain to download.  I can get ZCash, ZenCash, and ZCoin.  But I can't get this coin to get any connections.  What gives?

The privacy-focused cryptocurrency zcash has had a wild 24 hours.

At press time, the zcash-US dollar (ZEC/USD) exchange rate had reached a high of $410, its highest level since June, only to fall back to $290 levels, the volatile day driven by reports the coin could be listed on South Korea's exchanges. Indeed, the inciting news here appears to be news about the forthcoming addition of the cryptocurrency to Bithumb, one of the country's largest trading platforms.

Stepping back, the move can be seen as part of a larger trend wherein South Korea is proving to be the basis for strong upswings in cryptocurrency valuations, though zcash's increase might mark the largest to date.

At press time, the cryptocurrency is trading at $310, up 12.8% in the last 24 hours. Factoring for the swing, ZEC is up 10% month-on-month and 75% week-on-week.

Noted whistleblower Edward Snowden has come out in support of the privacy-oriented cryptocurrency zcash, calling it the "most interesting alternative" to bitcoin.

Writing in response to a tweet from technologist Mason Borda which read: "Zcash is the only altcoin (that i know of) designed and built by professional and academic cryptographers. Hard to ignore," Snowden replied, "Agree."

He continued:

"Zcash's privacy tech makes it the most interesting Bitcoin alternative. Bitcoin is great, but "if it's not private, it's not safe.'"

Snowden is a prominent privacy advocate and is most well known for his massive leak of classified NSA documents in 2013. Asked for his thoughts on monero, a competing private currency, Snowden said it was "amateur crypto" and pointed to traceability issues within the tech.

I don't think that development of ZCL is expensive, as i heard ZCL is the fork of ZEC as ZEC team is going to improve their project ZCL is going to implement these changes as well for ZCL.
The only thing that ZCL team is really need to do is marketing and spreading the word, requesting ZCL to be added to new wallets, exchanges etc..

Opting to partner with Bittrex for this particular venture is a rather surprising decision. That’s not because Bittrex is a bad exchange, as it has become the largest altcoin exchange in the world over the past few months. However, there is no reason to think Kakao wouldn’t have been able to pull off such a venture on its own. Then again, having a reliable and experienced partner on board will only accelerate the development of Upbit and increase its overall potential.

Another Korean Exchange will open in this month with a possibility of adding ZCL to its trading list.
