Hello!
Its probably a stupid question but in which BTC Wallet are u mining with your Avalon?
Is there a seperate adress for each pool u have to use for less fees or something? Or can u mine in every exchange/wallet like electrum?

I just got a message back after a week of waiting with an address and exchange rate which was very close to the coinbase exchange rate.  So happy the exchange rate was fair, but not so happy about the time it took.  I hope they get my shipment out today Smiley

We need more competition in the miner hardware space. I put in an order of $9k but it looks like they are not interested. They are refusing now bank transfers and want me to pay with BTC which makes no sense if like me you are buying on a company and need to deduct the hardware as an expense. First they only accepted bank transfer and no BTC and now its BTC only and no bank transfer (unless you order 60 at a time). Their whole online sales process is in fact manual, some guy needs to review the orders and provide BTC or bank account information MANUALLY for each sale. They should use some of that $43 million investment money they raised in a programmer who can code a decent checkout backend, a problem that was solved with online sales 25 years ago ....

I don't understand the issue with expensing the price of the miners if they give you an invoice which lists the price in USD.  It should be very straight forward.

I dont know how it works in your country but in mine i will get questions if I use my business account to convert first into BTC. The logic thing to do accounting wise is simply a $ bank transfer to Canaan from my business account for this invoice. That is how b2b transactions work and have worked since the invention of official currency, maybe someone should explain that to Canaan.

Lol, I know a guy named Steve in FL  Tongue and if he was working for Canaan, you'd all have your miners by now!

lets face it coins shot way up and they are holding back gear due to the 4300 usd a coin price.  It is no more complicated then that.

at least they do not have the coin and as coin goes up and up I have been cashing some I sold some today{.100} at 4287 a coin.

I am sure thats what they are doing, but why not be honest about it? Thats the whole reason i bought Canaan equipment, to have an experience with a company better than BITMAIN...

I agree it sucks but as they are not holding the coin in my case I sold some at the high price.

This type of sales tactic on thier part is not good but less worse then bitmain.

I am speaking to those that they did not take funds.

Bitmain  took the funds of the s-9 and are not going to ship the s-9 until mid September.  That is worse method.

I am annoyed since bitmain has yet to take the repair for a dead s-9 board and avalon has yet to take my money for this gear.  about 12 or 13th for the two deals.

on the good side today I got another 1080ti which is hashing and earn money as I type.  I am up to 15 1080 ti's

I'm still hoping that one day a manufacturer will stand up that is honourable. Canaan was the one with the best reputation, I put in my order before it shot up, I have an invoice for x usd, i want to pay with bank transfer, they should just honour the deal. The whole BTC scene has a reputation for being a scam because of this stuff.

On a sidenote, I have a question for those of you who host your Avalon equipment. Do you get a controller for each miner? If not what do the hosting providers usually want? Also, what do you do for PSU's? How do the hosting companies prefer you handle that? FYI I use the Canadian based companies.

1 controller can manage up to 20 miners. For the rest I don't really understand your question. Don't know which colo you are using but in my case I decide how to set it up, the colo just provides power and ip connectivity to my router / firewall. Behind this router I have my mining rigs.

I have 70TH blocked because of this. My colo is asking when I'm going to bring in the new gear and I can not answer them because Canaan has gone silent! It is just bad business that leaves a bad mark on the BTC scene.
