Are faucets, referral commissions and promo costs all deducted from the investor profit? or is it paid from the sites cut?

It is paid from the site's cut.

If you look at all of the casinos that operate on a crowdfunding basis, then you'll see that the site's cut is split into a)promotion of the site, b)running the faucet and c)paying for server fees and hiring people etc.

It is definitely not from the investors.

Ethan could pay it himself as well.

this is true for yolodice. cryptogames for example deducts the faucet from the investors profit.

A good contest, I'm looking forward to its results. I have been on your site for a month, I found that it was very nice, everything worked smoothly and without any errors. However, if allowed to comment, I want you to upgrade its look, we prefer an eye-catching interface.
You are right man, It's a amazing site. Like you, I have been on YOLOdice site for a month. It's seems cool. I like everything here. Design and mechanism of it.
Really it's a great site. I hope that mangers keep this site good like that.

If the website takes 10% of the investor profit (0.1% of wagered approx.) how can it pay 0.2% of wagered to affiliates? Does it operate on the basis that not all users will have affiliates and assume that risk?

Ethan has answered this question already ITT.

cliffs: the owners have a decent piece of the bankroll and are okay with not making that much money for now to grow the business

It's not deducted from investor's profits. Right now all the prizes, faucet and incentives are paid from our separate fund.

Edit: I think we might at some point introduce incentives that are paid from the site bankroll, but not at this point. If this happens, we will be clear exactly what is paid from site bankroll, how it affects investors' profit and expected return on their investment.

Cheers,
Ethan

Our second Number Hunt competition just went LIVE!  Details here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1849631.0

Can we win more than 1 prize on this competition? Lets say a player hit 0 5x, will ge get 0.5btc or he will only get 1 prize? Indeed it is very rare to hit 0 so many times but it is still possible.

Nice question, same here. Smiley
Ofc it's rare but in theory, can happen. I don't see any of the competition rules to be broken, so a player can win multiple prizes.

Or is there a rule about this?It would be good to know, thanks.
I think its not you can not get multiple prize you can only get 0.1 this is just what i understand about 10 winners who will get the 0.1 btc each..

I think a player can get multiple prizes on this competition, as there is a chance for a player to hit low number multiple times. There is also no rules "one player one prize" unless the rules of the competition is not complete yet.

One player can have more than one prize, there is no restriction on that. E.g. if you have 3 bets in top-10, you get 3 prizes.

Cheers,
Ethan!

And of course a nice promo through referrals and one here on bitcointalk with a great campaign that adds to the mix of awesomeness. I hope they continue to get positive feedback.

Ah I personally don't have time for that and I'm not very good at getting referrals anyway. The investment is where it's at ! So easy so profitable. So transparent. Invest and forget ^^ If you get many refferals that is like an investment too. As I say I'm bad at it but if you are good then you can make some nice 💰 money

I've been exploring various ideas related to altcoins. I am not going to introduce betting in altcoins now for sure, but what do you think about accepting deposits (and maybe sending withdrawals) in other currencies? Shapeshift.io comes to my mind as a possible solution.

Do you think it's worth implementing deposit/withdrawals in altcoins?

Implementing shapeshift api can be enough on starting to accept deposits in altcoins but i don't think it will be quite reliable to have withdrawals through their api due to high bitcoin transaction fee in middle as well as their price spread. Users may loss so much due to those fees.

Really!?
I would of thought otherwise. Only one qualifying bet are paid are usually the norm for contest rules.
But if that is so then good one on your site!
Congrats Yolodice on becoming a recognized dice site on bctalk forums!

I really see no reson te set a limit one prize per player. If there was a limit like that, people would simply use alt accounts to work around it. My thinking is - if you can roll a winning bet, do it! :-)

Cheers and good luck!

Lost some mbtc for the hunting low number competition but still unlucky to hit the number, my lowest rolled number was 58 so far. Not even close to be top 50 I guess lol, absolutely a pure luck competition. Like this very much..
