Wow I do not know about you guys but this is got to be the biggest profit win from any contest I have seen so far. Although okay,,, I have not seen many days as I did not join this site from the start!

But still more than 36 hours left to the contest and total prize pool is now almost 2.7 million DOGE. Meaning,,, almost 170% extra prize. First place wagerer = 38 million so a LOT in Positive EV!

And this contest only runs for one week so with a prize of 3 million doge in my opinion is very much with such a short time. This also includes the developer strategy so that the contest can run long and gradual, so just enjoy it because you can still probably be in first place in each contest.

No it is not based on the duration of the contest. Yolodice wagering contest has fixed minimum prize plus 50% of the site profit during the contest.
The prize is basically 1 million doge only on the beginning, it is increased to 3.8 million doge now because of the 50% of profit earned by the site during the contest. It may back down to 1 million doge if there is/are players win big before the end of the contest.

The competition just ended, I think it was the most wagered Dogecoin competition we had, with the highest prize pool. We ended up with the prize pool of  over 4,400,000 DOGE, and the main prize was ~ 1,320,000 DOGE.

Of course 1 million doge now is "only 2,300" dollars at the moment but all of us doge lovers are waiting for the next time 1 DOGE = 100 satoshi again, right? And then, 1 million doge becomes 1 BTC. Imagine how much BTC would be then, then you can imagine how much you have;)

Jackpot is always nice to hit, but there is always minimum bet amount to win the whole jackpot amount.
Not all players are able to bet that much, usually jackpot hunters bet smaller amount to get some percent of the jackpot only.
While whales who can afford to bet higher is not really focusing to hit jackpot, as most of them hunt for profit by betting but if they hit the jackpot then it will be a nice bonus.

No, I have won jackpot playing with free coins from faucet. They are proportional to bet amount, I am saying that people who are placing high bets have reall chance since it is not  one in billion chance.
Odds to hit jackpot are one in 100k  and for example if you bet ETH it will be EV+ when prize reach 100 ETH

The results are actually decent enough compared to other competitions when you look at it, yolodice must have found some dogecoins that were cheaper for them or a sponsor, otherwise if they did this in bitcoin they could have given out a lot of money.

Looking at all other competitions the biggest prize usually gets stuck around 0.05 at most (you can check other competitions yourself) so I think giving out close to 1.3 million doge right now means a whole lot of money and they gave that just for the winner, the total prize was closer to 4.5 million doge which is 10 thousand dollars to giveaway for competition, that is a whole lot of money. I don't know if the website was able to recover that much from the wagering but I doubt it was that successful for them.

Most of our competitions cost Ethan 0.50-0.75 BTC to run initially, not including if someone wins a bunch during the competition (or potential site gains due to the house edge).  We do not have "sponsors", and we don't get them any cheaper than anyone else does.

Regarding your second paragraph ... shouldn't we completly cut out possible gains from the players during the competitions, the house edge kicks in anyways? All in all the competition would not take place if the yolodice lost a significant amount of money?
