bitp.it - Miner for websites - Does it work?

Hello,
I applied for Bitp.it and implemented their script in some of my websites. Earlier, it showed me that it generates, but I never recieved any bitcoins (not even after days of mining in one of my own computers). Since days it's not even generating anymore.

Is there anyone who ever recieved something? I am getting the impression, that I am not mining for myself...

Javascript is extremely slow and inefficient for mining.

I had bitp.it running on a fairly high-traffic (non-bitcoin-related) website and didn't get anything from it at all.

If you can place the code on nytimes.com you might get a few bitcents.

I think google would be a better target, an employee might sneak it in.

shh.. not too loud.   If Google gets that, they will implement a mining script on all their websites....

None whatsoever, but it's possible my site wasn't as high traffic as I thought it was.

lol, I wonder if they or anyone else that runs the script could get sued for theft of electricity as I know alot of people probably leave their computer on and at a google search page or whatever the last page they were on. Possibly even causing systems to overheat and cause damage. Surely this would have some legal complications eventually.

Think it works better the longer you stay on the site. That's already the first problem as most users usually leave websites after some minutes.

I tried it on some of my sites and left em open on 8 office computers while being on night shift. bitp.it indicated some khps, CPUs where nearly on 100% but nothing was mined after 8hrs. Think its only a good thing for the bitp.it folks.

Also it's not really proper, when you take CPU time form your visitors. Maybe they don't like your site when it brings all CPU fans to run on full speed.

That's a pretty clever idea, however as mentioned it's all done via the CPU and generates significantly less than even a low level video card(even if it is some other persons machine doing the work)

bitp.it DOES work but you really need high traffic sites. preferably blogs/forum where users stay for a while.
I've tried it too and had ~100 workers >constantly< mining for 12h and generated 2 shares.
The hashrate was 80kHash/s to 180kHash/s the whole time. So you really need high traffic sites for this to work. A 100visitors per day won't get you far. You will need +1.000 visitor at any given time to get +1MHash/s and even with a thousand permanent workers it will still be more than 200 times slower than a single up to date gpu.
bitp.it can be considered as experimental for now but i think it will be really interesting when webCL rolls out or someone finds a way to implement sha256 in webGL

@LeFBI: That's not a lot. Unless you are Google it's maybe not worth (yet) to bother your website visitors...
