cashed out my BTC purchase at the (frankly, overpriced) Libertybit canada site. Transaction "completed" "verified" yadda yadda yadda. looked at blockchain... 4 hours later... wtf? four hours seems a little extreme. Is blockchain that slow? blockchain info says it went thru. not in my wallet. address the same on blockchain. seems odd to me. plus i want my 5.768 or w/ever btc i bought fair and square. fucken sketchy dudes, maybe a "long con" cuz i usually have ok bussiness relations w/ them (despite the price gouging) but still. according to blockchain its legit. am I that n00bish that I've never seen a "confirmed" transaction take >4 hours?Huh

EDIT; gf tells me its only ~2 hours (4Loko dontchaknow) still. says everything is completed according to their "contact us"-free website.
Should I have known better, or am I merely impatient?

Have contacted libbybits can. and informed them of their poor business practices, up to and including being too cheap to spend the pennies it would cost them to pay transaction fees off the top of their obscenely overpriced and fairly shite services. Please canadian bitcoiners, i implore you! Make some competition for these weasels up here. need badly! wrse than 51% stuff...is monopoly!

Just be happy you aren't trying to get money out of MTGOX. What a nightmare. It would have been faster for me to fly to Tokyo, pick up my account withdrawal in yen, and then forge my own cassius coins in a coffin hotel.... and at least if I did this I'd have any idea how much longer it would take to complete the process.

Hi Gogxmagog,

As mentioned in our correspondence:

Quote
"As LibertyBit is a live market, the price fluctuates according to how individuals decide to trade. We at Libertybit have absolutely no choice or influence over the price that our user's decide to trade for. Since you are buying/selling from other individuals, we are not in control of the price. You might consider entering a price that you feel is reasonable, and waiting for a possible seller. However, a brief look at the other exchanges over the past 12 hours reveals that the lowest price on Mt. Gox was $146, and the lowest on Virtex was $143 (with volume of only 2 BTC). If you consider our fee of 0.5%, it seems you received a bargain compared with any other exchange at a rate of $144.

I don't know the reason that you did not see your funds on the wallet side. As far as I can tell, you made 3 withdrawals to the same address - each of which had a mining fee attached. *Block Chain link removed*

As a matter of fact, your first transaction for 5.75746472 BTC was confirmed in about 1 minute. *Blockchain link removed*

Sometimes wallets also have delays, as propagation throughout the Bitcoin network is not always perfect. We do what we can from our end to ensure that funds arrive in a timely manner."

We hope this clears up and any misconceptions regarding our business practices and some of the misleading information provided in this thread. I'm happy to answer any questions or disputes regarding the above information.
