Hello,

I just launched https://1000bitcoins.com/btalk . You may be interested!

1000Bitcoins.com provides a set of small advertising spaces forming a big block of 40X25. There are 1000 advertising spaces. Each of them costs 1 BTC.
Advertisers can promote their business on the site and in the media that will talk about it.

In reality, I got this idea from the famous http://www.milliondollarhomepage.com . In his time, it made a big buzz!

How to use it : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NbQiR9YdAyk

By the way, I am in contact with dozens of Tech / Bitcoin news sites (Techcrunch, Ubergizmo, Coindesk, Cointelegraph, and so on).

Thanks,

But what does your website do to attract people to go to it? From what I've read in your post it's just a huge block of advertisements is it not? Do you write articles and the ads are along with them?

Ahhh ok. Thanks. I just didn't understand the business model. That could be beneficial for a business though. It just depends if you'll actually be mentioned or not though. I know you said you have connections but there's always the risk it might not run right?

You should gain your traffic first, yeah I know milliondollarhomepage is successful site advertisement block, I think you should make your traffic crowds, and put the price at middle price, 1 btc for 1 ads space is too expensive, just for your start up.
And you can use ads packet, it's like people order 4 ads block, this packet have a low price than order 4 ads at normal price.

This has been done a couple of times already.

Once the promotion for the site stops, so does the traffic.  The advertisers get nothing.

So, it's only the billionth iteration of the million dollar homepage, nice. At least you've managed to get a couple advertisers on there already, that's a lot of money.

Checked few of the related domains and script for pixel ad and found most of the related domains are available as well as script is also available for free but may need few modification. So anybody can just use that free script and start similar projects, but the hardest part will be to find advertisers. 1BTC per pixel sound really high.

If he have got payment for those ads than OP seem to have already covered enough cost to run this site for few years.  Grin

-snip-
It sounds high because it is absurdly high, >$700 is way too high for that small of an advertising space on a website that does not get nearly as much traffic as what you could get if you just paid for it on other advertising networks.

This is going to be difficult, because advertisers wants to see massive traffic for them to invest that amount of money into Ad space. What are

you doing with the site to generate recurring visits? A site like this, must have a promotion plan attached to it, to show possible investors

where the traffic will be generated. If this is going to be purely Bitcoin companies, then this should be targeted to Bitcoin users on a large

scale. In these economic times, businesses want value for their money... They want maximum expose to specific demographics.  Wink

Except your link does not have the same PR and traffic as the http://www.milliondollarhomepage.com/

You should add buysomebitcoins to your website though, we have an affiliation program.

I never seen the point of these sites at all.
I'm sure once the first one did it that market it was out played.
No real point in making one people are just going to see it as a waste of money and time.

As you stated in the OP yourself this isn't really a 'new' idea.
I think that the reason why the million dollar homepage was a success was because it was a novel idea that nobody had heard of before.
This site now just seems like a blatant attempt for you to get rich. Besides, asking for 1 BTC per spot is quite ridiculous. You may get a few sales of the price was actually reasonable but at that price I genuinely fail to see why anyone would sign up.

I hope i have answered your question.

That's stupid. Why would anyone pay you 1 BTC for the possibility that a news website or media account that has nothing better to report on would offhandedly mention their advertised service as an aside? Any legitimate service can just pay a fraction of that amount to get real advertising or even actual conversions. In fact, they can get the same "advertising" that you're offering for free by contacting the same websites that you would be spamming for attention.

Advertisers are paying for traffic. If your page has nothing interest and unique on it, then the only traffic it will be getting is from stray visitors who will most likely spend less than 2 seconds on it. The first of anything new always gets a lot of attention. Since what you're proposing is nothing new, then it's just a random page with links. I can go to a lot of those already, and advertisers don't even have to spend 1 BTC to advertise on those random pages.

People advertising pay per click or per impression. You advertising is going to have to be based on that nor some arbitrary figure like 1 bitcoin.

Wrong. Please do your due diligence before spreading any false information (like you are doing now).

None of the links on his advertising wall belong to paying advertisers. The 4 links currently occupying the advertising wall on his website are all referral links. You can easily verify that by checking the URL that those links lead to -- every single link ends with a referral pointer to an account with the username 1000bitcoins. Those banners/links are only there to provide the illusion of actual paying advertisers when none exist in reality.

It is very unlikely that advertisers doing their due diligence would be swayed by those fake "advertisements". It is also very unlikely that anyone would pay 1 BTC to advertise on a site with no consistent organic traffic. But that's not the point. You are doing a disservice to everyone by spreading false and misleading information for a few satoshis worth of sig spam.
