Merry Xmas everyone,

I have a question. On blockchain I can see 46 confirmations (button) next to my transaction. Is it standard? Why so many confirmations are there?

Thanks

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

every block that is built ontop of the chain that holds your transaction lends to it a confirmation.
