I understand that it would be a "shitcoin" when compared to the bitcoin or ether. I think the value is not in the coin in and of itself. The value is creating a whole environment of "shitcoins"/Celebrity coins that will be fun the trade based on how they perform in the real world.

Having a few celebrity coins wouldn't do either. There should be hundreds of actors, musicians, or sports figure that someone can choose from. I imagine it more as a game than anything else.

I see nothing wrong with OP's idea. At least now we have TIT coin - what's the coin for, promoting tits???
- OP's coin will make good sales because companies also pay celebs for product advertisements.
So maybe OP can reach an agreement with the celebs.

Yes, but its an infringement of copyrights to be saying that you have any form of ownership of a name in showbiz... Especially musicians and actors...

You cant use celebrity names without paying a royalty. Ask Michael Jordan.

Is there a way to get around that? I assume you need their permission, so setting aside 10% of total coins for said celebrity wouldn't work.

What if you changed the name of each celebrity a bit and made it a parody? Isn't there a law that allows you to parody a thing and not infringe on copyright?
