Hmm, well that means you don't need a modded ROM, this default ROM is already 99 Watts, so should be able to have even 6 of these cards on a 1000 Watt PSU. The only benefit I see for making a custom ROM is trying to get the VRAM higher default clocks and Lower the CORE Voltages and clocks to be more effecient. That's weird. I most certainly cannot fit 6 of these on a 1000w. My kill-a-watt puts it over 1000. I guess try to crank down the core and I'll test it. Here are the ROMS: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B6VgxfTqxux4cWFWbUpDelhQWFkI made 2 core variants and 2 memory variants Try the Stock Mem and Core 1125 mV 850 first, that should be the lowest Wattage ROM that would be named "Asus.RX480.4096.160817_core_1125_mv_850_memory_stock_timing_stock.rom" If it's stable for more than 2 hours, I would then try the "Asus.RX480.4096.160817_core_1125_mv_850_memory_1900_timing_1650.rom" Which is the ROM with same low power core clocks + 1900 Mhz Mem Clock and 1650 Mhz Straps for better Dagger and Equihash performance. BTW, do you have multiple GPUs? Incase the ROMS fail on boot, you can reflash the GPU with stock ROM if you have another GPU that you can boot with. (I'm assuming you know how to do with with ATIFlash/ATIWinFlash?) Awesome! Will test tonight and report back! Yes I have bricked cards, and re-flashed using another GPU before. I use ATIflash cmd line tool. Ok, cool Let me know if the ROM Works or if the voltages need to be a bit higher Mines at 23.5, which is about 2 mhs higher than stock, but crashes after a few minutes. Even with the 860 mv.

Mining for about 20 minutes currently. I'm sure there are a ton more optimizations that I can make but I used your ROM to compare to stock and other ROM's I have to learn what you did and what it does. Thanks for guiding me along this learning experience. I am happy to throw you some BTC for your time if you wanna post or DM your BTC addy. Thanks MXaddict. Wolf, if you want to elaborate what you mean, I would be happy to continue to learn.

While I see several modifications in PowerPlay, none indicate 1125mV (at least in the voltage table referenced by the DPM states), and there's no offset in the regulator initialization section in VoltageObjectInfo (nor is there space for one, you'd have to make room.) You're right, these are basic PBE changes to both clock and voltages to the default curve, i did not do much else as I don't have access to the actual card to do much (safely) @lamaonade80, which ROM worked for you? Did any of the memory OCed to 1900 with 1650 straps work? Also let me know if it's stable after a day or 2 of running.

Wolf, if you want to elaborate what you mean, I would be happy to continue to learn. A note about timings on RX cards - I've noticed Elpida/Hynix like the 1500 strap better than the others - Samsung seems to prefer 1750, though. What I meant was, the only undervolts done look like they may have been done in Polaris BIOS Editor (which used the voltage table referenced by the PowerPlay DPM states.) I'm almost certain this doesn't work on Linux, but I'm not sure about Windows. So - did it work on Windows (wattage drop)? I don't think so. I can watt tool the 470's down, maybe enough to get all 6 cards to fit on one rig, but the 480's are hogs and I have no control over the voltage in watt man, and it appears the cards pull the same amount of power regardless of the ROM, all it affects is hashrate on the Asus. I think i can pump the memclock to 1960, as most people are reporting hashes in the 28's where my 1900 mem only gets 26. I am still left with the power issue, regardless if I'm getting 26 or 28 mhs/card. I thought the ROM would supercede the inability to correct the wattage issue through watt tool, but I think I was wrong. http://forum.ethereum.org/discussion/8845/rx-470-mining/p26 It looks like this guy has the same problem as me. Don't understand the response, though I'll try asking him

Greetings folks!
I found your thread after thinking my DUAL-RX480-O4G was under-performing. I would get 23.5X MH/s on Claymore ETH. This is overclocked with afterburner 1200 core 2100 memory +40% power. I am dual mining DCR right now and power consumption is not a huge concern.
I am curious if you made any addition discoveries? I tried Asus.RX480.4096.160817_core_1125_mv_860_memory_1900_timing_1650.rom and I getting 26.5 MH/s + 800 MH/s DCR.
I am learning by comparing this rom to my 'stock' backup. Pretty interesting. I appreciate the work and this thread.

Advice: Decrease your dcri setting slowly.. You will see gain in ETH hashrate.. To me .. DCRI 35 worked the best. My ETH hashrate is 29.8 and DCR 500MH which is the most profitable combo

What OS are you running? If windows then they will fit easily, because you can go very low on wattage with right WattTool profile. Important information will be your current energy consumption and if your 470 cards are tweaked in any way.
yes, If he is using windows, no need for a custom ROM, just use Crimson and set a decent undervolt for the core and memory. Dude .. it you dont know stuff. please dont advice. Without rom modification its impossible to get rates about 25MH.. With rom mod I assure you can go above 29MH with using 30% less power than unmodded.

I have my completely custom mod for the rom. (I have it for MSI 4G RX480). I checked that MSI and your asus mod have exact same timings on the original roms) so the modified roms should work fine. As far as power goes; my current rig with 6 MSI RX480 4G gaming x on 1000W PSU so you should be perfectly fine. My current hashrate is 174MH/s ETH (avg 29MH/card) with dual mining Siacoin 390MH/s Here is the proof. Look at my last rig. named 113. Other 2 rigs are reference cards. All are RX480s 8 gb. Currently my rig is running 56hrs straight (as you can see on the 2nd column and error rate is wayyyy lower (0.1% wrong shares) than my reference cards running on modified Boysie 29MH rom (0.3% wrong shares). As far as power goes Each card on dual mining using 110W on GPUz. Single mining uses 90-95W. So at wall both should be around 130 for single mining, 160W for dual mining max. How much can you send me for the mod? I am not a big miner but it took me a lot of time to find the right combination of the variables on these cards so charging something for it. Let me know if you are interested

Greetings again.
Still having problems with the DUAL-RX480-O4G card.
If I flash with 1500 straps the speed is there -- but I will start to get artifacts on the monitor and the driver will crash. It will do 29-30Mh/s for a very short period of time. I've tried from 825mv to 1125mv on the memory voltage settings in Polaris editor.
ETH: GPU0 26.202 Mh/s DCR: GPU0 851.549 Mh/s
This is with -dcri 65 and a 1200mhz core clock. ETH only it will hit 26.7 - 26.9. I've seen it hit 27.0 a few times.
I feel like there is more to be had here but I need to read more -- or possibly get some assistance.
======================
Somewhat related. I have 2 Sapphire 470's and both are doing this on a similar setup custom rom. 1500 straps are not a problem.
ETH: GPU0 29.141 Mh/s DCR: GPU0 451.692 Mh/s
This is with -drci 30/35 and a 1075mhz core.
Seem to be great cards if they hold up. I only bought the ASUS due to price + rebate.
