I've just spoken with a fellow in Mallorca Spain who called me on my mobile after I called the number on ether-wallet.net website and he has told me that the pos behind this "wallet" has stolen his id and has been taking out Google ads with his id. I also tried to look up the skype number which does not exist.

He tells me Google is aware that this site is a scam and apparently the relevant authorities are on the case. I've just made my first transaction of 200 euros, and I couldn't figure out why it's not showing in the account and I'm getting zero reply to inquiries other than one to ask how many ether I sent. Bity had confirmed that the Ether coins were sent to the address I provided initially  which has now changed.

Definitely a scam and this guy is playing a very dangerous game, which includes wire fraud and identity theft.

You got the web address wrong. try this one: https://who.is/whois/ethereum-wallet.net

Records were amended a couple of days ago. When i first checked on the June 12th, it had different details.

I'm hoping to get this issue highlighted a bit better, there was article written not so long ago;

https://www.financemagnates.com/cryptocurrency/news/ethereum-worth-8-million-apparently-stolen-freewallet-users/

Should soon findout if its an 'Exit Scam'

Is it possible that Eth coins sent to my wallet after the 12th June could be still in my wallet? I have looked at my account on Ether Scan and there does not seem to be any other transactions after the Eth went into the wallet.

Any suggestion on how to access my wallet to see if there is any Eth coins still there that I can move?

Hi,

Thanks for that, you are correct.

Evidently, www.ether-wallet.net is a scam also,

Quick update after several not too pleasant messages informing the administrator that I know for a fact that their skype number doesn't exist, that  they are using  false ID and someone else's actual telephone number on their site and that I've been in contact with the web hosting company, I received a message that things had been sorted and that my ether balance has been updated to reflect my purchase.

In my case, the sense of urgency to get involved with ether overtook the common sense necessary to do the proper due diligence to find a secure wallet. Nonetheless, I will be sending my ether onward.

 Be careful out there.

Still awaiting a response with regards the Manual Disbursements to me. If anyone is registered on the http://ethrestoreforum.freeforums.net site - Please post a note to the admin. Users such as myself are completely in the dark, no response to email and a status of PENDING STAFF APPROVAL on the http://ethrestoreforum.freeforums.net

My wallet was depleated.

I have reported the theft to the UK Police Cyber Fraud - http://www.actionfraud.police.uk/

If there are any action groups available to chase this, please include\invite me.

Can someone set up a Face Book page so we can all join in with the conversation. We need to know how many people are affected by this Scam and what action we can jointly take to make sure he is caught and charged. Also whether we can get our Eth coins back

Go back to where u send the ETH from and click on the address u send to, u will be taken to etherscan, where u can see your ether is deposited and then trace whether u still hv ether in that address n u can see whether it is move out n to where!

I'm not wanting to use facebook for discussions. I've created a board http://etherr0bber.freeforums.net/thread/2/ethereum-wallet-net-r0bbery

Feel free to join that. It would help to provide your Ethereum-Wallet.net wallet ID and Tx ID of transaction records of the heist.

The latest posting at EthereumRestoreforum, hv the owner suggesting that it will be able to pay back to everybody if the price of ETH is capped at US$220, assuming that ETH price is now US$300, for each ETH outstanding, everyone will receive around 220/300 ETH for 1ETH. This is a plus factor for everyone. Someone should communicate and agree on this proposal.

eric1961 said:Received 40%. But, still have very strong concerns as to the remaining amount owed. Since depositing 50 ETH in my wallet, the price has gone up 450%. Having read the various comments left by Admin on how you intend on replacing that which was stolen, it is not a plan...Suggesting that selling projects, and/or selling the site (or part of it) is not a confidence builder. A business plan presented to a buyer showing 60% loss of tokens (at an ever increasing $ value in the future) does not reflect a positive foundation. If you truly are planning on restoring that which was stolen, you need to stem the outflow of loss (increasing in value every day). It is my contention (if you plan on restoring your brand name), that it would be advisable for you to immediately secure funds, restore the tokens, then begin to reap the profits that are going to be plentiful in the future of ETH. If you take any other route, then it seems that you are not intending to make things right. I hope that you will do the ethical thing and make a strong commitment at this time. Thanks

Came back to consider your suggestion. After a lot of consideration, we think it may be best to cap the value maximum at the time of the hack, which the price was around $220, in order to make it feasible that we can at least pay everyone back the original value at the time. Ethereum prices look strong, and it would be difficult to make up for the 50% appreciation in value since the hack. This was what Bitfinex did when they were hacked, so we may have to take this approach for the next disbursement. We've updated the announcement post. A maximum cap on the value is a good idea, or else this project would be impossible if ETH were to rise to $10,000 hypothetically. Hopefully this compensation plan will be able to satisfy users, since it's a difficult situation for us as ETH keeps rising. We're still working on building a site to handle disbursements, as mentioned previously.

Going forward, we are trying to take as many security measures as possible. The hack to our root account was devastating, and seeing in real time all the transactions out of the account into exchanges like Changelly and Shapeshift was disappointing. For us, we're essentially losing a successful project we had spent over a year on. Unlike the DAO hack, we aren't able to hard fork and reverse the blockchain back to the way they were prior. The exact source of the hack is undetermined - whether it was because of our migration process, or the something to do with the new web host we moved to - these were all possible vectors of attack, especially since we'd only migrated for two days. It was definitely not an issue with our code being vulnerable. We had ran that setup for nearly a year until the migration. If there's one thing we'd do differently, it would be to plan out and risk-assess everything before making major changes to our website. This migration was too hasty and was mostly done in a day to prevent our site from being down for too long due to maintenance. If anyone was online one or two days prior to the hack, they might've seen the maintenance message once or twice.

These weeks since the hack has been stressful for us, as we've had to deal with so many things due to this one breach in our system. We want to make sure everything we build going forward is secure no matter what, and we want to place measures in that make it impossible for hackers to gain anything even if the root account is compromised.

This is just robbing us again. 27 ETH i stupidly held in that wallet. The offer was 40% (10.8 ETH) now and and IOU for 60%(16.2 ETH).

ETH not GBP,USD or INR

And still, i've not had any contact from them.

Plea for eric1961 to make contact: http://etherr0bber.freeforums.net/post/59/thread

I had 88 ethereum in my wallet at ethereum-wallet.net, and these were transferred to another wallet in february of this year. I have contacted him numerous times and he will not reply nor help me out. He will not approve my account for his forum as well. This guy is a scam like you won't believe.

Where does het get the money from to fund people 40% of their ethereum? We're talking hundreds of thousands of dollars in total? He can never earn that kind of money with that phony website of his. I am confident his new forum is fake and everybody there are his own accounts.

People have any suggestions on how to go after this fraud?

Thanks,
Sebastiaan
