Hey guys,

I just started my bitcoin-qt wallet and started to sync. After a few minuted I got a fatal error.

Debug log says: "2016-12-01 18:45:31 LevelDB read failure: Corruption: block checksum mismatch"

I know it might be a problem with my storage (the wallet is on an external hdd).  The external hdd works just fine for everything except the bitcoin wallet. I get this error every few month.

Is there any possibility to fix this error without reloading the whole blocklchain?

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

To answer your question: Yes, you just have to reverify the database and not redownload it. If this happens regularly its a hint at hardware problems.

3 Threads?

Hey Leute,

Do an update before you start with -reindex there was a recent patch that improved the performance.

Im not really here, its just your imagination.

Backup your wallet.dat (just in case) and reinstall the latest version. It will replace all needed files and keep the blockchain and wallet.

I updated to 0.13.1 and now started it with -reload. Afterwards I try -reindex.
Let's see if this will work.
