It took forever for those who ordered to get their miners, most had pretty shoddy quality and it's just a novelty as their efficiency is way too low for anyone to make money from them. They break easily and come from a dead company.

Yes, it mines SHA256. It's not really worth buying, but it'd be nice for a miner museum.

Yeah Monarch used to be top end mining hardware, but they are totally outdated now and if you run their miners you will most definitely be operating at a huge loss.  I wouldn't recommend doing so but maybe if you have like a collection of bitcoin hardware for say a museum or personal collection I could see owning one.

It wasn't even near top-end at the time. You could buy better miners easily from Bitmain and Avalon, BFL just didn't have it to compete with larger companies, what with their delivery speed and efficiency. The monarchs do have a somewhat salvageable water loop. It was a nice idea but was too poorly executed to become a widely used miner.

Agree with what everyone says above, like it being very outdated hardware, from a failed and unscrupulous company.

But I still use one to heat my shed, as it isn't too loud and can put the water block on my air intake. Works out better than using a 2kw space heater in the cold days. Plus I get a bit of BTC dust from it.

Yes. Avoid BFL at all costs. They are a bad company to buy from. Many problems in the past.  Sad

Are you looking to buy a miner? I would do a lot more research before purchasing anything.

Easy to do as BFL is defunct. The miners, however, still live on.

Ja. and for them ref m post about the 5ghs miner https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1695483.msg17011308#msg17011308
Try BFGminer version from around when the miners were made. AFAIK the Monarch is one of the built in drivers.
