issue with GekkoScience Compac BM1384 Stickminer (not recognised in linux)

I can't seems to make my gekkoScience to work on Mint (ubuntu 16.04)

the usb stick is not recognised by the OS.

Anyone has an idea how to get linux to detect it?

That might possibly be the one I was referring too. But so many pages I'm not sure if everything has been answered already
