I've had good luck with ethOS using SilentArmy and optiminer so I'd get this for $39:
http://gpushack.com/collections/gpushack/products/ethos-16gb-ssd

That said you can get a 256GB SSD for under $70 and throw your favorite OS and miner on it.

It's probably good for 600-800 sol/s on ZEC depending on the miner and VBIOS tweaks.

Cheers,

- zed

why you need 16Gb of ram ?

in fact you don't 8 gb are more than enough, there are however some coin that are memory hungry and you need to increase the page quite a bit in case of 8gb

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

I actually never needed it in my farm, most of my rigs have 4g, so I wondered why 16gigs of RAM

Get a better cooler. Sleeve bearing stuff doesn't last.

There's a REASON the only HD 7750 card I have left from my Litecoin GPU mining days that has it's original fan is a Sapphire (though it is the OLDEST of the whole collection) - all of the others had sleeve bearing fans that DIED in the first year or less, the Sapphire has a ball bearing fan and 3+ years after I bought it it's STILL running.

To be fair, all but one of the other CARDS are still running - with a motly assortment of left-over 60mm ball bearing fans left over from outdated CPU coolers from machines I've retired twist-tied to the heatsinks....

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813138436 - best new mobo, works flawlessly 70$
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131696 - 180 h/s $154.99 after rebate (got 6)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817438019 - PSU I like EVGA (1000 is enough) 140$ after rebate
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA1N83U90738 - cheap CPU 47$
ram - used some cheap crap had lying around and hdd card - 50$
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GU94QSQ - risers 40$ (were on sale)

930$ - 6 gpus
70$ - mobo
140$ - PSU EVGA 1000
47$ - cpu
50$ - ram and hdd
40$ - risers

Shipping was free on all (military discount and prime)

I use a wire rack from home depot that holds 12 miners, cost was 50$, so in total, $4.16 per miner for a "rack"

1277$ total

6 x GPU RX470 Mining Rig
you will only get rebate one one its one per house hold

It's easy to get around that. Luckily I have willing neighbors who allow me to ship to them, pays to be military!

i have two neighbors i can trust who don't care I'll even give them a few bucks for doing if they would take it, but they won't take it . and agree rebates shouldn't be limited one per house hold or one per person the company is not losing anything. they offer it . or don't offer it .

okay  after discounts

 112.50 for the i5 6400t = ?  a  cheaper option works retail the  pentium g4400
   35.99 for a samsung m2 128gb ssd  =  no brainer
19.43 for a silverstone cooler ? cheaper option works the retail pentium g4400 has a cooler
   99.99 for a biostar z170                  =  easy choice
   46.80 for 2 4gb ram sticks               = neutral
107.99 for 1 750 watts evga psu.        = good choice
600.00 for 4 visiontek rx 470's          =  this is the best price I have seen for rx 470's  they may suck

976  4 card setup.

if you go for a pentium g4400  it is 60 bucks with a cooler

vs 132 for the better cooler and cpu.

so  the build would be 904

I have a really bug issue, here in my country, i can't find any of good MOBO that I found on forums used by other miners. Sad. I found this and i really want to know if I can use it for 4x RX 470. Thanks in advance!

For a riser rig, that board should support up to 5 cards.
