Hello,

i'm pretty new here and want to build a cheap mining rig.
I found many thread about hardware but the most was over 1 1/2 years old and the most of the cards are out of stock or the price changed.

I want to spend 250-300€ and an full rig. Note: lower priced thing appreciated thats really the end of what i can spend.
So what are the suggestions about graphic cards?
Are 1high priced card better that 2lower priced one?
Yes i found an chart but its pretty hard to find the right thing many of them are overclocked or different designs and sometimes the infomations are lacking.

The others parts i want to search when i know more about the graphic cards(crossfire etc...)

Maybe i want to start mining litecoins aswell, maybe its important for you.

Maybe anybody can help me that would be really nice.

200 to 300€ is a hard limit. I would say you need at least all PArts for a normal PC. This would be around 150-200€  (30 CPU, 20 Ram, 30 Case, 50 Mobo, 50 PSU). That allows you to spend 100 to 150 € for Grapiccards (180 if you spare the case). I think ypur best bet wpould be a AMD HD7790 for around 120€ which should make around 300MHash/sec when overclocked. For Litecoins, the 7790 may not be optimal. You could try to grab a 6950 and flash it to a 6970 which give around 350 to 400MHash/sec. That should be better than the 7790 but costs at least 180€. Or you spend another 60€ and buy 2 7790s for a total hashing power of around 600MHash/sec.

If you like my advise, i would be thankful getting a small donation at:

DOn't know if you've seen this page yet-

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison#Popular_Mining_Cards

I've got two 5830's running on two different rigs. They were both machines I already had so the setup costs weren't too high. I'm not getting the speeds shown on this page, maybe I'm not tweaking enough. But one does around 230 and the other does around 250. The 5830 cards aren't that expensive. There was a guy on Ebay selling around 20 of them at a low price, I only bought one that time but maybe should've bought more. I think running two cards on one rig might be a hassle, but not sure as I haven't tried it. I have lately been thinking about adding a third rig since the price of btc has gone through the roof.

Other than making sure that your rig has enough fans for cooling I don't think the computer itself, the motherboard and processor, need to be fast; it's all about the card. So I think as long as you have a PCI-e slot in the machine you're good. I might just get my next card first and then get the machine- before I already had the machines and got the card. I don't know why but the best cards for mining don't seem to be the newest ones, so you end up getting them on Ebay.

If this helps send some bitcoins!  Wink

Ok,

I dont find a spreedsheat about the 7790 and im not sure about how fast this card is.
This card is at 130euros so that not an bad idea.
Have 1gb to 2gb card ram any effect on minig?

About the other cards the 58XX series are only 5 on ebay and that are mostly uses or with no guarantee and i dont want to take the risk of destroying a card after the first few month and get no new one >.<
The 6950 are at 300euros i dont know why but it is... pretty crazy.

Next parts maybe
AMD Sempron 145(45w)
Mainboard really dont know im never every have an amd/ati pc >.<
Ram i must go to check this but i think i have 4gb ddr3.
Power i think im going with corsair.
And an normal hdd.

So with 2 7790 and the other hardware the pc run at 250w~ and roughly can this be true?

Ok so i googled way more and found that the 7790 has an hash rate for bitcoins at 275~ mhash/s and for litecoins 205 khash/s.

I calculatet this:

I use some higher difficulty to be prepared :x
Can this be true?

And if yes than this would be the next calculation bitcoins vs litecoins:

I hope i dont do a mistake.

Thank you

2x 5830s = 520-600MH/s depending how far you push the overclock will cost you the same as one 7790/7850 = 250-300MH/s
