It would really be nice to go. But then again, to me, it feels weird to see people you have only talked with insulted and abused online.

I'll attend my first bitcoin meetup this Thursday evening in Asheville, NC. I'm pretty excited. I'll be bringing some bitcoin swag to give away too. Should be a fun night. Grin

I've been to one of the meetings held in Portland, Oregon.  They have a regular meeting every 3rd Tuesday of the month.  It was pretty cool, got an opportunity to get a look at one of the first Skyhook ATM demo units within a few weeks of their launching nationally.  Great way to meet locals also interested in bitcoin and occasionally you get to catch a glimpse of some pretty cool project.

I have never attended one, but guess it may be a good idea for individuals willing to build a pool.

For quality cryptocurrency contents, kindly contact me. Thank you.

you want to go to one in the UK, last one I went to, I could buy a round of drinks in  Grin

but on a serious note, meet-ups are important as its almost like a sub culture, it lets us know were not alone and were doing the right thing.

I guess its the same everywhere in the world tho, I start talking about BTC to friends and I get the stereotypical response of "oh well, apart from guns and drugs what use is it" then I have to educate them about the media and who controls the flow of real info.

its a propaganda fight more than a freedom fight, we have to unlock peoples ways of thinking, stop crying over your pre-recorded live concert of someone you think you know and wake up, BTC is our ticket out of this circle.

Would like to go to some meetups and chat with people who've been there, done that.  Are there any directories of where people are meeting here on the forum?

most of the meet ups are noted here and you would find some meets in meetup dot com as i have seen many like minded people in many areas who would gather around every week . just try that out ,i am not sure whether i am breaking any rules telling other sites name,if i did mods do notify me.

Here in my country, some Bitcoin and other altcoins enthusiasts have already began some meet-ups though I have never been to one and I would like to also associate myself with people of the same mind as far as cryptocurrency is concerned...am sure events like this can be a good way to network with people.

I just moved back to California, I'll go to a Silicon Valley Meetup in December.

There 'used' to be more truth in forums than anywhere else.  Twitter:  @cryptobitchicks  Spock: "I am expressing multiple attitudes simultaneously. To which are you referring?"  INTJ-A
