As shorena said, it doesn't make economic sense to scam/spam with a purchased account because that would mean loosing the money you just spent on buying said account. Doing this would more or less be throwing money away.

Quickseller often invokes this sort of rationale "it doesn't make economic sense to do __" in discussions.  What's fun is to look through his posts and see how the __ is often in contradiction to itself across time.  That is, he's happy to reason at one moment that some behaviour makes economic sense and then later that it doesn't.  What I'm highlighting here is that whether or not something makes economic sense is actually one of the hardest things to find agreement upon: thus the varying behaviour of people (both within and across).  Quickseller might argue, it doesn't make economic sense to scam, yet we find scammers, so it's not really valid to suggest that because QS says something doesn't make economic sense means that we won't find anyone doing it.

Here's the kicker, even if there was universal agreement about what does and doesn't make economic sense (which clearly there isn't), we have the problem on top of this that people are not rational.  Anyone who actually studies economics knows that the idea that people are perfectly rational agents who always act in their own best interests isn't true at all.  People act emotionally, irrationally, etc all the time, often against their best interests (economic or otherwise).

I don't know that this will help QS (logic and argumentation isn't really his strong suit), but it might help others here to avoid taking the bait when QS offers it.  The argument that 'X does/doesn't make economic sense' isn't intersting or valid if you're trying to support a proposition that people will or will not do X.  The official name of this logical fallacy is non-sequitur (doesn't follow).  For fun reading see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non_sequitur_(logic)

Cheers!

As shorena said, it doesn't make economic sense to scam/spam with a purchased account because that would mean loosing the money you just spent on buying said account. Doing this would more or less be throwing money away.

You must have changed your mind very quickly:
If it becomes a common practice to give a negative rating on known sold accounts, then the value of such accounts will decline because buyers will need to factor in the risk that their newly purchased account will receive a negative rating (and along with it, lose all/most of it's value) for no real reason. This will cause two things to happen:

1) When accounts are sold, the new buyers will have a greater incentive to try to scam because they know there is a chance it will receive negative trust eventually anyway, so they have less ways to make their initial investment back.

2) Owners of accounts (the original owners) will have greater incentives to try to scam because the EV of a scam attempt verses trying to sell their account would be greater because of the low prices their account would now be worth, when compared to the potential payout of scamming.

Lol. I find it very ironic that someone who is clearly engaged in at the very least the purchase of accounts (and most likely the sale of accounts as well) is arguing against trading of accounts.
You are going to have to cite evidence if you want this statement to be credible.

It is exactly what happened by that time (points to KWH, Shield and all DT that have decided to neg sold/bought accounts) but you still are like

it doesn't make economic sense to scam/spam with a purchased account
oh...the bait again...someone warned me, I guess.

You know...i dont like witch-hunting as well and sometimes i dont have the mental strenght to follow Timelord's investigation as he clearly is being way more anal than me (hey i have a life too...), but sometimes i wonder if your account is a bought account too because trust me: "young members" like me in this forum are having an hard time to believe you were a DT long time ago...

~Gun

The quickseller UID was set up by someone with a, shall we say a Disposition specifically to give the allusion of selling accounts, some of which would then go on to scam.  Together with their "patron" TomatoCage and other Alts, they would then give negative trust to these "sold" alts.

Any genuinely sold Alts can also get tagged and no one would be the wiser.

Over in this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1616969.0 I've now realised why quickseller is unconcerned why xetsr has gone missing owing hundreds of dollars, as with TomatoCage, quickseller relys on their patronage for their trust rating being at the level it is by relying on two UID's that are effectively missing in action.

Should either return and their new comments trip them up, all three's trust ratings will be trashed.

I haven't had time to check the PGP key signing is that previously listed, however, I'm surprised no one investigating Alts has ever commented on this uncanny short list of PGP keys that quickseller is on.

Another trick quickseller employs is for s/he and one of their alts to engage in conversation backing each-others assertions about a point...

Code:

Hash: SHA256

My QS account has not been sold. Not that this fact has anything to do with your argument.

  • Bit-Gods     -2: -1 / +0 runs a thinly vield Ponzi that LavaWave collects from then deposits funds into.
  • Bit-Gods     -2: -1 / +0 is connected to johnathan32 via a slip up in the account used to reply to a message

As shorena said, it doesn't make economic sense to scam/spam with a purchased account because that would mean loosing the money you just spent on buying said account. Doing this would more or less be throwing money away.

Quickseller often invokes this sort of rationale
-snip-

Alright, lets get the fallacies out. This is a personal attack, which does nothing to devalue the arguement at hand.

The argument "pay X for account, must scam >=X to ROI => account trades make scams less likely to be profitable" was introduced by Salty IIRC.

-people are irrational-

Yes, like these ratings. "account was traded => new owner will scam/spam" is not rational. Neither is "trades account && traded accounts result in scams => account trader is scammer". We can agree that a new owner may scam or spam and try to find evidence of the likelyhood.

-snip-
Another trick quickseller employs is for s/he and one of their alts to engage in conversation backing each-others assertions about a point...
-snip-

Which is a useless tactic if you argue with arguments and not against or for the person.

Im not really here, its just your imagination.

I don't think including those as alts is the proper thing to do here. Having that link on their profile is circumstantial evidence at best, and it looks to me like those are their personal referral links. I could be wrong as I am not getting anywhere close to that website. LeancyInvest seems to fit the criteria though.

all registering in a tight 26 day period in February 2014.
I don't think including those as alts is the proper thing to do here. Having that link on their profile is circumstantial evidence at best, and it looks to me like those are their personal referral links. I could be wrong as I am not getting anywhere close to that website. LeancyInvest seems to fit the criteria though.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=mlist;sa=search select all five boxes and then search, nothing personal as it's there for all to read.

Fair enough. I have added the the first few accounts and will review the remaining ones once again before deciding what to do.

I think that I have correctly added all the connections that have been listed so far (besides some that may not contain enough concrete proof). Please double-check and PM me if something is missing.

I haven't read everything concerning quickseller / master-P (I have a life after all)

In this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1206309.msg17381020#msg17381020 http://archive.is/IWmbZ#selection-7779.0-7748.7 erikalui admits to being employed to create posts - something I wouldn't have thought of, so it'd not a stretch to suppose quickseller has a handful of staff he passes UID's to to manufacture posts, then takes them back to sell. (having boasted they'd sold 70 UID's in 2014 alone)

OK, so this was the reason you left a negative rating on my account? I posted on behalf of anyone was something you assumed? I did not post as a part of farming accounts while it's just like a signature campaign where you get paid to make forum posts so how does that make me a part of account farming? I own only one account on this forum and your rating on my account doesn't imply anything. I did not even make posts from my account and you say I made posts for quickseller? I used to post for CEG and on other forums and I never gave them the account details as they are owned by me.

I was cheated/scammed by CEG as he did not pay me nor others for making posts and when he paid me, he asked me to confirm the same saying he was another owned of the account. Now if I confirm the same, have I committed a crime?

I don't get what your statement implies (so it'd not a stretch to suppose quickseller has a handful of staff he passes UID's to to manufacture posts, then takes them back to sell. (having boasted they'd sold 70 UID's in 2014 alone))

I am myself against account farming and you blame me of doing so?
